Harry was very confused. The Dursly's were out on vacation and had left him alone at the house with strict instructions on what to do and graphic descriptions of what would happen if he failed to do them. He had finished what he needed to do for the day and had decided to go relax in the park. He had only been there for little bit when he felt something. He wasn't quite sure what it was but didn't have much time to think.
His scar exploded in pain. he couldn't think and could barely breath. It was like some horrible animal was ripping him to peaces and he was forced to stay conscious for the whole thing. Then as swiftly as it started, it stopped. He felt something cool wrap around him and he tensed. However what ever it was didn't feel malicious, indeed it seemed to do nothing but hold him. It was cool and calming. Harry didn't understand why he was scared of it in the first place. As he thought this it seemed to shift ever so slightly, as if trying to convey some message. In his pain hazy state he saw no harm in simply letting it in so it could tell him what it wanted. So he let it in.
The Shadows rushed into him. He felt them curl around his very being filling in holes in his soul, smoothing the jagged edges, making him feel whole for the first time he could remember. For a few glorious seconds he felt wonderful. Suddenly Harry realised that there was an imbalance. He knew that he could live with this imbalance, but he didn't want to. He wanted to feel that wonderful wholeness agin. The Shadows reacted, understanding his desire they pointed him in the direction of for filling it, a small ally just across the street. Harry immediately headed to the ally.
When he got there he saw a what seemed to be a boy curled up on the ground further in. As he approached the boy he saw more and more details. The boy on the ground had multicoloured spiky hair and was waring rather dark clothing. When he neared down next to the boy he saw that he was crying and seemed to be in pain. Harry reached over and stroked the boy's hair murmering things to him softly in an attempt to calm him down. It seemed to work a little bit so he decided to introduce himself and try to find out what was wrong.
"Hi there, I'm Harry. You seem very upset could you tell me why? Maybe I can help you." At the sound of his words the boy stopped crying and looked up. he stared at harry for a moment and very quietly responded.
"I'm sorry but I doubt that you could help me" The boy's voice was light and he trembled as he spoke. The Shadows had brought him to the boy, so he knew there must be some way to help him. He couldn't just leave him here. harry knew, somehow, that if he left the boy alone he would die here in this ally before the first moment of tomorrow had struck. Harry didn't know how he knew, he just did. He knew could save this boy. But he needed to know what was wrong.
"I can't even try if you don't tell me what's wrong." He felt he could trust this boy with his secret of sudden knowledge. "I don't want you to die here." The boy gasped and sat up.
"h-How?"
"I don't know how I know I just do, and I really don't want you to die. Please will you tell me what's wrong?" The boy stilled and was quiet for a moment. He dropped his gaze.
"My soul is unbalanced. My darkness re-rejected me and all that is left is light. I am not strong enough to continue on my own." As soon as he finished he started crying softly once more.
The boy's soul was off balance, well so was his. He could balance the boy's soul. He could save the boy but he needed the boy to accept him. "My soul is off balance too. I could be your balance, your darkness." The boy's head snapped up eyes wide.
"Really? bu-but I," Harry put a finger to the boys lips, stopping him in his tracks. The boy was shaking and had started crying harder but no longer seemed sad.
"I want to help you. I want to keep you safe but you need to let me, hikari " Harry had no clue why he had called the boy that. He barely knew that he had but, somehow it felt right. The boy had stilled upon hearing the word and a moment later collapsed into harry's arms.
"I give myself to you. I Grant you access to my soul in return for access to yours. We will become each others balance so long as you may wish it. I will give you access to my light so you may cast your shadows. You will be my Yami." The words the boy spoke were rather formal, but harry could feel the magic swirling through the air. Making his words reality. he knew it wasn't quite finished. There was more to be said. He opened his mouth to continue and found them both speaking as one.
"May we cast a long Shadow."
The bond snapped into place as the magic in the air solidified.
"My name is Yugi." Yugi, as Harry now knew the boy to be called, Promptly fainted. Thankfully Harry had been holding him so he didn't fall over. Harry was freaking out a bit but he knew he needed to get Yugi out of the ally and back to the Dursley's house, he could figure things out one he got back there; so he wrapped the boys legs around his waist, picked him up, and turned towards the mouth of the ally. As he turned he seemed to spot a flash of white but it was gone as quickly as it came so he ignored it and headed off to the place he had lived for most of his life.
