The door flew open as unfamiliar faces barged in. Six people came in, equipped with weapons. The four men in the back were henchmen wearing Kevlar. Leading them was a girl and a boy, obviously twins. In sync, they both ran their hands through their silky, wavy blonde hair and raised their guns. Then they looked up at us with piercing green eyes.
Smirking, they said in unison, "You're coming with us." We stayed quiet for a moment, processing what they had just said.
Zoe then snorted. "Well, that definitely wasn't staged."
Mike laughed out loud and applauded. "Great job! How long did you practice that for?"
The girl frowned and glared at the boy. "Chris! I told you to be natural. You were too tense. Now, look what you've done!"
Chris shot his eyebrows up and protested, "Tina, are you kidding me? You're the bad actor. Don't go blaming it on me."
"What??? I'm never bad at anything." She stated.
"What about that one time you baked a cake for grandma? It was a no-bake recipe, and you managed to burn the cake." He pointed out. I heard Mike and Zoe chuckle at this.
"Well guess what? You were the dimwit that put it in the oven and—" I didn't want to hear them argue so I interrupted.
As soon as I spoke up, the room suddenly felt very awkward. "So, how can we help you...?" I asked, choosing my words carefully.
The twins stopped arguing and focused on us. The girl, Tina, looked at me and smiled. "Ben Ripely is it?" Her lips were pink and full, with dazzling perfect teeth. That was the sharpest jawline I've ever seen. It sculpted her face like a statue. Long eyelashes fluttered above her sea-green eyes. One look in the eye and it made me blush to my Adam's apple.
"Y-yeah." I stammered. I looked anywhere but her eyes. She was stunning. One glance and your face would light on fire.
"Ben. Don't tell me you have—" Erica and Zoe both started, clearly disgusted.
"What do you guys want from us?" Mike interrupted thankfully. He looked at Tina with a wolfish grin, "The name's Mike, what's yours?"
Chris narrowed his eyes at Mike. "Dude. Not happening."
Orion spoke up and pointed at them, "Woah, they're the enemy! With guns pointing at us. Why are you guys being so friendly?"
Tina pursed her lips and smiled. "No worries, I don't believe we've introduced ourselves formally yet. I'm Christina and this is my—"
Chris interrupted. "—Brother. Christopher. Call me Chris."
"Little brother," Christina emphasized.
"Whatever. Nine minutes late and I have to live the rest of my life in misery." He grumbled crossing his arms.
"Anyways, I'm Christina. Call me Tina. Or Christy. Or Christine. Just not Stina. I hate that one." She said, making a face. She continued calmly, "I suggest you all surrender now."
Erica narrowed her eyes. "Not so fast, Christina. Who do you work for?" she asked coldly.
Christina nodded slowly. "Ah, the infamous Erica Hale here, isn't it? Did you think I'd just tell you?" She proceeded to roll up her sleeves and raised an eyebrow. "Let's see how good you actually are—" and with that, she launched herself high into the air, coming down on Erica with a powerful overhead head. Erica dodged, just barely. Christina had speed and agility that even Erica didn't possess. With a light tap on the foot, it seemed like she could rocket skyward. Erica threw her ninja stars while Christina dodged them effortlessly. But then again, Christina shot her bullets that Erica was also able to dodge.
Suddenly, Catherine showed us something while everyone was distracted. She had pulled three small silver coins out of her pocket. She pointed at the window and held up three fingers. My stomach did a small tumble. Great. More jumping.
Catherine counted off her fingers and stepped on the coins, releasing puffs of smoke. Christina immediately stopped fighting Erica and disappeared behind the curtain of smoke. I stopped at the window, a bit unsure what to do.
"H-hey, this is actually pretty high—" too late. A familiar smell of lilacs and gunpowder was behind me and shoved me out the window. I fell and landed on something bushy. I jumped off the shrub as the others quickly followed from the window.
"Head to the Limo! Hurry!" Erica yelled and pointed ahead. We all scrambled on the limo as Orion hit the gas. Except for Catherine and Erica, we were all panting and out of breath.
"Oh man. That was not fun," said Mike.
"You and Ben seem to enjoy someone back there," said Zoe coldly.
"Erm—" Mike and I both started.
Suddenly, Catherine took out her phone as she received a text. Her expression was a mixture of surprise and worry.
"What's wrong Mom?" asked Erica
Catherine hesitated. "Ms. E...has—escaped," she answered slowly.
"Escaped? I thought you said it was the best jail in France!" said Mike starting to worry.
Erica nodded. "I'm not surprised. Do you who those twins were?" we all shook our heads.
She continued, "Those two, are Ms. E's grandchildren."
