You and Dream spent more and more time together. But not today, since today he was busy. He promised to come back as soon as possible, however. Ink and Blueberry had stepped in, eager to test and teach you.

The past few days had been focused on physical protection: blocking and punching. Of course, you were slightly off-put by the activities, but it was necessary. The Star Sanses weren't always going to be at your side.

"C'mon, (Y/N)! You can do better than that!" You jabbed at every free opening, but still managed to do no damage. Blueberry sighed, blocking a few of your kicks. "You're getting a bit sloppy, try and concentrate!"

"I am concentrating," you huffed, punching once more at his hip. "I'm just so bad at this it looks like I'm not trying."

Somewhere in the background, Ink chuckled.

Sweat was beading on your brow as Blueberry gave you a nudge with a bone. "OW! HEY!"

"What, you expect that your opponent's just going to stand there and let you attack?" Blueberry was suddenly dodging every attack you threw, increasing your frustrations. In a sudden burst of anger fueled energy, you swung at his skull.

It made hard contact.

Blueberry stumbled, holding the side of his head with a gloved hand. "Oh stars. Oh my—I am so sorry. I didn't mean to—"

But Blueberry was smiling. "Wowie! That was great! You might just be able to stand up for yourself after all! Mweheheh!"

Ink nodded at you from across the room. "You really are doing a lot better. Luckily you won't ever be on a mission alone. We'll escort you from place to place."

Nodding, you helped Blueberry up off of the ground. A small tingly feeling bloomed in your chest as you wondered where Dream could possibly be. "In case you're wondering," Ink called, "Dream's not here. He's actually in his universe—"

He cut himself off as he saw the look on your face. "Why didn't you tell me?" You asked, adjusting your sweater. "I could have found him there this whole time? And you didn't tell me?"

"Look, his universe isn't made for people like you. Soft, sweet, innocent people like you." Ink crosses his arms, eyes red and orange squares, and scoffed. "Trust me. You would not like it there. Even Fell says it gives him the creeps. And Fell's seen a lot."

You huffed, picking up the Book of Magic from a root. "I don't even know who Fell is, but that doesn't stop me from being curious." You hesitated. "Unless the universe is life threateningly dangerous, then I'm coming with him."

"(Y/N), please. We both know that if he wanted you to come along then you would have trailed behind him like a little dog."

You glared hard at him. His eyes were still firmly squared, and he glared right back. Stomping out of the room, you squeezed the book tightly between your arms. The large golden jewel in the middle rubbed against your arms as you walked angrily to your room. There was something you wanted to test

The lighting wasn't the brightest, but you didn't care. Opening the book, your eyes widened slightly at the many languages that peppered the page.

You tried over and over again to read it, but it was almost like the words were bouncing around the page. Frustrated, you grabbed the book with both hands and said, "Show me Dream."

The words stopped bouncing and instead quivered on the page, as if listening to you. You said it again: "Show. Me. Dream."

The ink gave a small twist and began to swirl. The words suddenly turned bright, pooling together in the center of the page. You leaned away, yet didn't take your eyes off of the glowing pool of what used to be words.
