Greg had tears rolling down his cheeks. It was the day of Ruby's funeral, and he was not in the most pleasant mood. His heart was in a dark space engulfed inside his chest; He had never felt more dissapointed in the world than he did now...that girl was something else, in her will she stated she wishes for Greg to show up in his uniform, he doesnt have to if he didnt want to though, she made that little side note in there because she cant force someone to do things. As Greg pulled on his uniform, making himself look all nice and spiffy.

He drove off, placed a piece of gum in his mouth and a speck of cologne so he can enlighten the room with his scent as he pulled up. The pastor shook Greg's hand as they both entered after sharing greetings. Greg sat down, and his tears rolled down again as he saw Ruby in her coffin at the top of the altar. He stood up and walked up to it, her skin was giving off that beautiful caramel glow, her office uniform placed on her, as well as her glasses sitting right next to her inside. He leaned down and kissed her lips, as he noticed the gunshot wounds on her chest, and head.

He didnt want to lose his cool, so he parted from her corpse and sat down. As the pastor walked up behind his microphone and started to speak.

"Ruby meant a lot to us, she was brave, strong, cared more about others than herself. We will never forget such a beautiful soul, running up there in heaven; we know she is being cared for by the Angel's after her risky acts to save and serve this country. She will be missed. If anyone has anything to say, please come up now, or forever hold your silence."

Greg stood up and it took him a lot of guts to walk over to that microphone. He could see the sorrow on her familys faces, he felt he needed to say some things and inspire them a little.

"Ruby was not just a soldier, she was my lover and best friend. I loved her like she was a part of me I could never escape. I never thought I'd see the day she would die in brave acts. I send my regards to her family and blessings. God shall keep her safe and warm in his loving arms. He loves you all more than you could ever possibly know, never forget it you guys, Ruby taught me theres more to life than just living it. You gotta learn that love is also an influence, she alone taught me that even a speck of faith as small as a mustard seed, can bring one so far into life. Thank you, that is all."

A few more people went up after Greg's speech and spoke. After an hour it was time to bring her down into the ground.

But just as that time was about to originate, someone familiar came through the door. Who was that?? Greg thought to himself..the girl walked up to Greg and said she was a friend of Ruby's as she introduced herself by the name of Izzy, as she heard of her death on the news, and realized Ruby told her something a long time ago before her death occurred. She handed Greg an envelope and told him not to unseal it until he gets home. As Ruby was placed in the ground, the piles of dirt began to fly on top of her coffin and her grave was placed. As Greg drove home and the ceremony was over.

He opened the envelope and to his surprise, a CD was sitting inside. He placed it into his PS4 and listened to Ruby singing a song she titled "The Distance" it had inspired Greg, and he passed on her love, knowledge and wisdom to others, from that day on he made it his goal to get her song published, as he did and kept the original copy of it, and from that day on, her message touched the hearts of many and it inspired millions of individuals to follow their dreams.
