Chapter 3 But I can't get her

The football players and basketball players had this feud going on ever since sixth grade, or well, between Alya and Chloe. Technically it was between the cheerleaders and the basketball players but since Adrien and Chloe became best buddies the basketball players and the football players became  enemies.

It all started when Chloe pushed Marinette into the mud and dirt in sixth grade in front of everyone, in front of Adrien and he laughed at her. Let's just say, Chloe adopted a black eye and a broken arm and earned herself a new enemy who was Alya.

Adrien watched the three best friends walk down the halls. Marinette had really grown more.... beautiful when she progressed through high school. Now here she was, having Alya and Tikki on each side of her, two of the hottest girls in the school.

"Gosh, sometimes I wonder if that Marinette girl is dating someone". Nino growled and Adrien looked at him with a puzzled look.

"What makes you think that she's dating someone?" Adrien asked.

"Don't you see? They're always by her side, one or the other or usually both. They're always so protective over her as well.  Why else would you think no boy would ask her out beside the fact that there are way more prettier girls than her or the boys are afraid to go near her because of the overprotective Alya that could kill you with a glare?" Nino stated simply and Adrien frowned and turned back to watch Alya slung his arm around Marinette's left shoulder,playing with her loose braid she had done.

Going back to how everyone thought that Adrien had a perfect life, perfect girlfriend, perfect family, perfect future. Adrien thought he would have gotten everything in his life, and if he ever wanted anything, all he had to do was ask for it.

But..... There was that one thing that he couldn't get at all.  The one and only thing he really desperately wanted, was the one thing or rather someone he couldn't get.

The Bell rang, signalling first period and Adrien closed his locker before looking at Nino.

"Time to head off to math?" Adrien asked  and Nino nodded his head before heading to the math class direction. Adrien kept walking with Nino by his side, suddenly remembering what Nino had said earlier in the car.

'You can get anything you want Adrien'.

"But I can't get her." Adrien mumbled and Nino looked at him.

"What was that?"

"Oh nothing. .... nothing." Adrien quickly replied. Nino looked at him with a confused look before shrugging it off and continued walking towards their first lesson.
