The Halls of The HRO were decorated with fine paintings of those who had served Heaven with their extra-ordinary research and discoveries. One of them, James Newman, discovered that Blutonium could possibly be used in the manufacture of artificial skeletal structures, in case some victims had broken bones and couldn't walk or touch. However, he discovered that Blutonium might damage the patient and may later result to death or the breeding of a monster. To prevent this, he made Artificial Blutonium which could do the desired purpose. He saved many lives and gave many people hope for a better future.
Richard sat in the lobby, waiting for further results. He had brought my half-burnt body out of the fire, but couldn't save my parents. Richard had successfully carried me out of the flames when he heard the dying voice of my father. He rushed up to him, but saw that Steve was about to give up the ghost. Richard remembered his last words.
" Protect... my... daughter...".
Richard stopped the bleeding in my head and quickly drove away from the scene. He considered going to the Hospital but was afraid that the killers might come for me also. And so he took me to HRO, where he believed I'll get fixed up.
The thought about the killers reminded him of Kelvin's death. Could it be that same killer, trying to break his heart by trying to kill his fiance? It had to be, he thought, that murderer had told them that this was just the beginning. He better start looking for him(or her, as the gender wasn't determined), so that the Hunter would get hunted.
Richard was still diluted with his thoughts when Phil, his best friend came to him with good and bad news.
" How is she?", Richard asked immediately he sighted Phil.
" She'll be already mate", Phil answered," But there's going to be some problems".
" What Problems?".
" The bullet damaged most of the brain cells, and she lost about 20 million connections from a single bullet".
Richard was horrified at the news.
" Don't worry mate", Phil continued," Thanks to Newman's research, we saved her by regeneration of her brain cells. However, she won't remember anything that happened before she got shot".
" You mean... She won't remember me at all?".
" Sorry mate, but that's all I can say for now. We are still checking for further casualties"
Richard breathed hard and then asked," Can I see her?".
Phil showed him my bed. There were Neuronsurgeons working on my brain. He was shocked to see no wounds on me at all. Newman's research did saved lives, he thought. He steered at my cute face and sighed. What a beauty! And what a tragic moment this was! A simple, normal, and peaceful good-looking girl lost her memory and is now an orphan. Richard shed tears indeed.
" When will she be out?", Richard asked Phil.
" Until we are sure that there's no more problems on her".
Richard saw one of the professionals installing a chip in my brain, " Why is he putting a chip in her brain?".
" Her brain might not function properly. We have to test her before she's discharged".
" And then you'll remove it right?".
" Yes mate", lied Phil
Richard was satisfied and decided to head back home. His father might find out that he left, and he didn't want his dad to worry his head off on his whereabouts. He bid Phil farewell and drove back home. By the time he got home, the neuronsurgeons and other professionals had fixed me up.
Hiding in the shadows were a group of men who watched the facility. Their leader, called deathblade(his code name), saw Richard leaving and sent some men to spy out his location. Deathblade and his men took up their positions and silently walked up to the gates and killed the guards. He and two of his men disguised as the guards and infiltrated the facility.
Phil read my profile given to him by Richard. He looked at it with disgust and discarded the paper. This is what they get for refusing to sell that land, he thought. He decided to let me live, but wanted to make sure I never remember anything at all. Phil didn't want to grow crops in dad's field, he actually discovered that the possibility of Blue orbs rests in Jordan's field, and he was ambitious of discovering it before others did, so that he could be considered the greatest among the HRO.
He heard shouts and gunshots outside his office. Startled, he grabbed his gun and hid under the desk, facing his door. The noise stopped, and he walked slowly and opened the door. Dead bodies lined the floor, and bullet holes were on the walls. The alarm was destroyed, and Phil was puzzled, not knowing what to do. Then the thought of me sent him running to my room, where he saw that I was gone.
***
My gun was ready, and my target was talking to Phil, that murderer who was going to beg for my parents' forgiveness when I send him, and his partner in crime, straight to hell.
