Steve Jordan, my father, was a simple, humble, and a handsome young man. Throughout his whole life, dad lived as a farmer. His ancestors brought a land some 150 years ago, and since then from generation to generation, this land was given to each successor. The land finally fell on dad, and he always made sure that he catered for it and protect it from other jealous farmers.
Dad was a peaceful and wise man in his time, always giving useful advice when needed. All this wisdom came from his father, Morris Jordan, as the latter was regarded as the wisest man in Maxhill. Morris never went to school, but there was a day his illiterate father sent him to the East Avenue, the eastern part of Heaven, where there was a free school programme meant to educate poor kids who couldn't afford to go to school. Morris was close to one of the teachers there, and it was through that teacher that Morris was inspired to know more. Although the programme was helpful, it was tagged as a poor man's school, and so external examinations where not conducted there, as certain fees where to be made, which the officials believed the school couldn't afford.
After his stay in the programme, Morris visited the Heaven Library more and read many books which improved his knowledge in many things. Someone who didn't go to school had some much knowledge that such an individual could help the society at large. Morris studied extensively on blutonium. Fascinated at it chemical composition and properties, he too was among the many questionnaires that wanted to know more about blutonium. From what he found out, blutonium didn't even exist in the periodic table. None of the elements had any properties like blutonium. Blutonium itself could react with any material or element, and to separate such compound required approximately a week, as the intermolecular bonds are more than 50 times stronger than diamond.
One faithful day occurred, when Morris' father gave up the ghost. This became a problem indeed, as the poor man owed many people, and those people were at the family's neck, demanding for their money with interest.
One day, as if their prayers were answered, Morris found a bluish substance hidden in his field. This substance wasn't blutonium at all, as its properties were also completely different. He later discovered that this substance was indeed useful for Plantation, and soon a field which bore as little as fifty crops produced more than 500 crops, and with the money he earned, he kissed his debts goodbye.
No one, not even my father, knew of this substance. Only Morris knew of it, and he made sure that peer pressure didn't expose his secret. After all, he knew that a bird might hear it and spread the news, which will obviously attract lustful eyes trying to clam his property. The Government might also hear it and seize his property, and so in order to avoid such trouble he kept his mouth shut. He later concluded that this might be the proposed theory of Newman, who in his time stated that the possibility of the substance might be true, and his predictions on it where like the predictions of Medeleev on the periodic table: everything he said was true. Following Newman's theory, he concluded that the substance were indeed Blue Orbs, as they could come together and from a sphere, which could be used for many industrial benefits. When Morris was about to die, he made Steve promise that he would never sell that field, even if they offered him millions or more. Steve promised he would, and Morris died peacefully as a great man.
This was the main reason why dad refused to sell the land to Phil. It was an ancestral heritage, and again his father also told him to make sure his sons or daughters would also refuse such prices. Steve did what a contented man would do; he honoured his father's words and refused to allow quick wealth to becloud his judgement. Above that, he suspected Phil, as he didn't trust the latter at all. He looked like someone who couldn't be trusted, and to prove that, when Phil left, he did so in an angry manner.
That faithful night, Steve decided to sit outside and think about his daughter's marriage with Richard, which was coming up about two weeks time. While buried with his thoughts, he sighted a car pulling up in front of his house. He was surprised to see Phil with a group of strange men.
" Remember me Jordan?", Phil asked angrily," You refused to sell me your land, and since you didn't want to do it the easy way, I'll have to take your field by force".
" What? why? I told you, its an  ancestral heritage. I can't sell that land Phil. Why won't you understand?", dad asked, a little bit frustrated.
" I don't have your time", Phil replied.
Looking at one of his men, Phil ordered," Show him his so-called ancestors".
Steve was angry at that statement, and would have charged at Phil when a flying knife stabbed him right in the chest.
You can now see why Phil must die.
