Piper was aimlessly strolling through the strawberry fields, smiling at the Demeter kids.

It was a sunny day and she enjoyed the warmth on her face. She never really realized just how beautiful Camp Half-blood was.

Everything had been so hectic from the moment they crashed into the lake and then the quest and everything... but now, she realized why so many campers felt like they had a home here. The camp, the other demigods, it all made her feel safe and protected.

Lost in thoughts, she ran face-first into Annabeth, failing to catch herself and landing in a strawberry plant, taking the blond girl with her. Katie was gonna kill her.

"Sorry," she quickly apologized, stumbling back to her feet. Annabeth just laughed, brushing herself off as she stood from the ground. "It's okay."

Smiling, she gently grabbed Piper by the elbow and led Piper out of the strawberry fields. "So, how's your research going?" She asked and Piper shrugged. "Good, I guess. A lot of different responses."

Piper rubbed her arms subconsciously. Standing next to Annabeth made her feel intimidated somehow. Sensing her nervousness, the strategist sat down and patted the grass next to her. "Let me tell you something," she said, eyes far away. She seemed to be lost in thought a lot these days.

"Do you wanna know how Percy would describe himself?"
Curiosity spiked in Piper's chest. She hadn't even thought about that, but now that Annabeth mentioned it... that would be an interesting question.

"Sure," she answered, barely hiding her excitement.
Annabeth's grey eyes glistened. "I can't say I always understand what's going on in his head, but even though he sometimes decides to act as unpredictable as half-humanly possible, in most cases, he's pretty easy to see through."

She smiled and absently picked at the grass at her feet. Piper wondered if Jason had such a love-stricken look in his eyes when he thought of her. She hoped so.

"I am sure you've heard that Percy is... very loyal." Piper nodded.
"What he cares about most, though, is keeping everyone going, making sure no one gives up. He would go to hell and back just to support his friends. Percy may be loyal to a fault, but his most prominent characteristic is something else. He's encouraging."

Piper mulled over her words.
Percy sounded pretty awesome, like someone she could get along with. She finally began to understand why the atmosphere at camp had been so solemn lately.

"Encouraging, huh?"
"Yes. That's what he'd say."
A smile grazed Piper's features. "I am getting more excited to meet him by the second."
There was a longing look in Annabeth's eyes. "Me too, Piper, me too."
