Warmth pours into the night when Sean turns the door handle, entering our hotel room. Me and Daniel shuffle tightly behind him. Yellow light casts a cozy glow on the room, though the smell of cheap cigarettes reminds me that this is indeed, a motel.
I set my bag down by the desk across from the beds and immediately my eyes hit the bathroom.
"Do you mind if I take a shower before you two?" I muster up the best puppy eyes I could do and lean towards Sean. He shrugs and I bring my fist down and whisper-shout 'yes!' before closing the door to the bathroom.
The bathroom looks clean enough. The paint is slightly chipped from the walls and the corners of the room smell of mildew and moisture. But a shower and soap make up for a weird smelling bathroom. I take off Brody's sweatshirt, which still smells of his cologne, something similar to what Esteban would wear. A rich scent with a forefront of masculinity but a twang of a certain softness that evens it out.
I avoid the mirror, already knowing I don't want to see myself before I take a shower, lest I become a puddle of self consciousness. I sigh and take off the rest of my clothes. Ready to rid myself of grime.
Walking to the shower. My hand meets the cool metal of the shower handle, making a shiver go down my spine and bits of my hair stand in anticipation. So, I turn the handle all the way, and step in.
Holy shit. I never wanted a shower more than this in my life.
I twirl around, and reach for the soap with a big smile on my face, the warm water only boosting my mood.

I put on my sweatshirt and decide not to put my jeans back on, deciding that the sweatshirt is long enough for me to get away with it. I let out a content sigh and hum as I turn the handle of the bathroom door. Only to meet face to face with Sean's chest, I blush and look up to meet his eyes. He turns bright red and his face looks panicked.
"Uh, um.. I was about to knock, I need to run a bath for Daniel." I nod, stick my tongue out and put my hand on his shoulder.
"Don't worry about it, you look like you're about to have a panic attack." This causes him to turn a deeper shade of red as I walk past him to sit on the bed with Daniel.
Looking around, I notice the covers are disheveled in the bed, I turn to Daniel with a brow raised.
"Did you jump on the bed?" Daniel giggles and nods.
"If you didn't take so long in the shower, you could've joined us." I ruffle his hair and scoff, bits a grin appear on my face.
"Would you want me to stink?" He shakes his head as I walk to my bag. I empty the bag, ready to transfer it all to Sean's new one, until something blue catches my attention. My hand finds it's way to my burning cheek. I turn the shiny blue square over before quickly stuffing it in his bag.
Why does he have a condom in his bag? Did he plan to use it at the party?
The thought makes my heart drop, though I can't explain why.
I'll ask him about it later.
By the time I empty the bag the bath is well on it's way to being full, Sean leans on the door frame of the bathroom.
"Bath's run Enano." This receives a loud groan and Daniel putting his hands on his face.
"Awwww, c'mon! Let me finish the episode." He points to the episode of Hawt Dawg Man playing on the tv. I stand up and give a shrug.
"It's your cold bath tough guy." He debates having a cold bath for a moment before he gets up with Mushroom in his arms. Sean glances at me as if to say 'I got this' as him in Daniel go into the bathroom.
With my newfound silence I lay down on the bed further from the tv. My arms and legs spread out to look like a starfish. I run a hand through my hair and close my eyes. A sigh leaving me.
A shower and a bed? Brody must be a angel.
Losing control of my consciousness I start to fade into sleep. That is, until the closing of the bathroom door shocks me. Making me scrunch my body and let out a "wut" then laughing at myself.
Sean gives me a look that can only be described as 'wtf are you doing, why are you like this?'. But the tension in his face says more, he's stressed about something. That makes me get an idea.
I get outta bed and hold his hands on either side of us. I move forward and start to move remotely similar to a ballroom dance (Think left foot, right foot). Sean still looks confused, I scoff and smile then try to spin him, though since he's too tall he has to duck to fit under my arm. This makes us both let out a giggle. We return to our previous position and I notice his eyes are now wandering and he becomes more stiff. I let out a sigh and squeeze his hands.
" I know what you're worrying about Sean. I guess distracting you was useless. " I interlock our hands as we stop dancing.
He swallows and looks past me.
"I'm scared, and it's stupid but my phone feels like the last thing connecting me to people, to dad and Lyla." I untether our hands and wrap my arms tightly around his waist.
"It's not stupid. But you've got to remember that your dad is always connected to you, and if you don't believe me just look at your brother. And I know I miss normal life too, not worrying about running from something. But I've got you, and care more about knowing you're safe than I care about running." I swallow the spit in my mouth before continuing.
"You know Lyla's phone number too right? We can call her if it's safe again but you know Brody is right." His arms reach my waist and his chin finds my head. He nods.
"I know." His voice vibrates through my being but the sad tone of it makes me start to rub circles on his back.
"Do you want me to stay inside?" I separate us enough so I can look him in the eye. He nods and I let go, returning to the bed. I follow his figure as he picks up his charging phone and makes his way to the balcony. Before he turns the handle he looks back at me and I smile reassuringly.
"Just know I'm right here okay?" He nods and closes the door. A burst of cold wind coming from it making me shiver.
From my place on the bed I start to fidget with my hands and bounce my leg on the carpet. Looking at his figure from the balcony. If I didn't leave my bag at the gas station, I'd have to do the same thing. I've already cut ties with my family at this point, due to the fact I'm here.
My aunts probably worried sick.
I bite my nails.
I wonder what the rest of my family thinks. That I've turned out a delinquent due to my parents?
I sigh, put my hand on my forehead and shake my head.
That's not what matters right now. Sean is about to let go of his videos of his father, you can worry about your own troubles later (Y/N).
Snapping out of it, I look up in time to see Sean throw his phone off the balcony and into the ground below. A pit finds its way into my stomach as the gravity of the situation hits.
Fuck, we're really doing this.
I get up from my place on the bed, and stand in the middle of the room, ready to read him when he comes inside.
The sound of the door opening redraws myself to his figure, my eyes search his face for emotion. But other then the dried tears on his face and tense brow, he stands silent, in shock.
I swallow and open my mouth to speak, though it takes a moment for my words to form.
"He-" My thoughts stop when he suddenly envelops me. His arms tightly finds my waist and his head in my shoulder. His shaky fragile figure tells me that throwing his phone was harder than either of us expected. So I rub his back while 'shh'ing him. This makes the tears flow freely from his face and fall onto my shoulder.
