Office Space

Like most of her mornings, waking up was hell. Käärmes eyes were blurry and burning. Her head was aching and the way she was propped up against the wall made her neck and lower back sore. She was sitting on a hard carpeted floor, after blinking her eyes clear and squinting hard, she could see that she was on the floor of an office. There were rows and rows of cubicles, papers thrown all over the room, and the only light was the sun streaming in from the wall of windows over looks similar looking abandoned buildings.

She slowly rose to her feet wobbling a little at first but finding her balance after the first couple steps. How the hell had she gotten here? She wandered through a few cubicles, searching the drawers for spare change, which she found plenty of, along with an old granola bar.

"Score" she whispered under her breath. looked around and found two double doors on the opposite side of the large room. She started to walk that way when she passed a large wrap-around reception desk, with a logo of a company she had never heard of on the front and a large sleeping man laying across the top, the same man from the night before. Käärme stopped dead, mid bit of an expired granola bar. She stood and watched him for a moment his chest rose and fell at a steady pace and his eyes were close and mouth slightly parted. She didn't really get a chance to notice last night but, this man is gorgeous. His dark completion was nearly perfect and only marked with a few scars here and there, one on his lip, one that disappeared beyond his hairline, and three thin scars that cut through his eyebrow, on top of his eye lid and slowly fades back into the rest of his face just under his cheek bone. Along with his scars he had a few gold piercings. One in his lip, right eyebrow and nostril, along with four or five in each ear. His stubble slightly shaded his sharp jawline and his dreads that fell just to his shoulders were now splayed over the desk along with his right arm above his head, that is resting on a ream of paper, while the other arm was flat against his stomach. To match his faces beauty she guessed his body had to overcompensate because the man was built like a house.

He looked as if you could put a watermelon in the crook of his elbow he could easily crush it. The same goes for his legs but you could probably replace that watermelon with a bowling ball. Though he didn't look bulky, he was perfectly proportioned, probably due the fact that he had to be at least six seven from where Käärme stood. Which was too close she realized when she scanned back up to his face to fine him looking back at her with bright laughing gold eyes.

"Whatcha starin at?" he laughed. Käärme jumped back a step and without answering the question she blurted,

"Where am I?! whoa are you?! And what am I doing here?!" He chuckled again slightly and held up three fingers as he went down the list

"One," he said sitting up and swinging his legs over the top of the desk. "We are in some weird abandoned office space, that I think is haunted by the way." He jumped to the ground and started walking around the desk, "Two," he put down his third finger, "I am Sebastian, like I mentioned last night, and your savior, no need to thank me please, and lastly," He talks too fast, she thought. He put up a single finger "really had no other place to put you." Just then, everything from last night hit her at full force. The men, the sex shop, that horrible creature, and him... him turning in to that... that... "You're looking an awful shade of green, man" he said still smiling.

"You- you- you're-"

"Funny? Handsome? I think someone mentioned your savior?" He laughed at himself.

"Like me." Sebastian's smile faltered for a moment

"Like me how?" He asked

"you turned into a lion..." She stopped and thought about the night before, the roaring and the running and the blood. "I turn in to a... thing as well." His face was serious then burst into a grin again. Sebastian slapped the palm of his hand to his forehead and exclaimed "Shit, for real?" he laughed "I guessed that at first but then you didn't turn in self-defense when Mr. Wind chime attacked, so I just figured you must of had a roll in the hay with some familiar earlier in the night transferring their sent to you." He let loose another booming laugh, throwing his beautiful head back.

"Why are you laughing?" she took a step back. His laughing slowly died and he took a few deep breaths and sighed.

"You never meet anyone like you before have you?" She was shocked

"You mean there's more?" His grin turned devilish as he smirked.

"Yes! I finally get to have "The Talk" with someone" Käärmes eyes widened.

"What are you talking about?" Sebastian went on.

"Okay listen- Wait I don't even know your name."

"Käärme"

"Pretty, Käärme, so, get this" She noticed he talks with his hands. "Not only is there more people like us," he moved his finger back and forth between them "there's an entire parallel world full of everything."

"Everything, what do you mean?"

"I mean," he waved his hands in front of her face and dropped his already deep voice another octave or two "Every monster and creature you've ever heard of is completely real. Yes, I finally got to say that."

"Are you being serious?"

"Well, except for the Loch Ness monster... that's just total bullshit." I've been kidnapped by a psychopath, she thought. "I can tell you don't trust me but I'm telling the truth. I kind of can't lie." She didn't know what it was, maybe it's the way his gold eyes sparkled when he talked about this world or maybe just because he was gorgeous, but she believed him. Not fully of course but she believed that he believed.

"Then prove it." he shot two finger guns at her.

"I was hoping you were gonna say that"
