I scattered through Heathrow Airport trying to find the exit. I tugged on the side of my hoodie frustrated and just wanted to break free from the cluster of people. "You look kinda lost", a voice said in a thick British accent. I turned around a there stood a man who looked around my age. I stared into his ocean blue eyes "Oh yeah, um, where's the exit?", I asked awkwardly. He nodded. He began to walk and I followed dragging my suitcase behind me. "You're from New Zealand", he stated. "Apparently they're meant to be really chilled back". I laughed to myself at his comment "Well not me", I said. He chuckled a bit. We walked a bit further before we both came to a halt in front of two doors with a sign above saying 'exit'. "Here you go", he smiled and turned his head to the side to look at me. His hair flowed into his face before he blew it out of the way. "Thanks", I said and looked at the ground. "I'm Josh by the way". I looked back up again and smiled a bit "Claire". "That's a beautiful name". I began to feel my cheeks heat up a bit. "Thanks again". "I'll see you around yeah?". I nodded before I walked out of the airport into the cold, London air. I went through our conversation and a smile grew on my face, then a look of confusion, how will he see me again when I don't have his number?
I stared out of the car window as it made its way down the roads of Britan. "You alright miss?", the cab driver asked. I nodded and carried on looking out the window. "How long till we arrive?", I questioned. "Bout' nother' few minutes miss". I sighed, I just wanted to break free from everyone and wanted to be alone, after all, I did just spend over 25 hours on a plane crammed with people. I shoved my hands in my pockets trying to feel for a lolly to relax a bit, but instead, I heard paper rustling. I took out the piece of paper, which had words scribbled all over it. I felt my heart rush and my mind going back to the day when we were traveling from Christchurch to Arthurs Pass on the train back in New Zealand. My brother and I attempted to entertain ourselves by writing down the first word that came to our heads. A frown fell upon my face as I remembered my family. I was snapped out of my thoughts when the driver spoke up "Miss we're here now". I scanned my eyes over Kingscross Acadamy school grounds. The massive school stood in front of me. It reminded me of Scotland as the school looked like a castle. Perfectly trimmed grass was laid out in front of the school with one big cobblestone path leading to the entrance of the school. Grass hedges ran along both sides of the path creating some sort of welcoming feeling. A fountain stood in the middle of the school and the road which faced parrel to each other. I saw different student arriving with their parents for the beginning of the school year. I saw the cab driver look at me before I remembered I needed to pay him. I ruffled through my bag to find 50 quid. "Here", I said and handed him the money. "Thanks, miss". I nodded and opened the car door, dragging all my stuff out of the vehicle. I slowly began to make my way down the path to the entrance of the school.
"Name?" "Claire Richards". The lady at the front desk to the school clicked her pen as she searched down the list of students. The room was silent, you could hear the fish tank bubbling and the clock ticking. The people behind me were getting impatient and looked like they wanted the day to be over already. "Dorm number is 16 A, here's your time table and key for the dorm room. Your school uniform is in your room awaiting you and if you would like to take a sport this year talk please inform the head of what sport you will be taking before school begins tomorrow, next" I moved out of the way, that was too much information to take in one sitting. I began to make my way to the boarding houses. Along the way, I could see people giving me a weird look as I'm in year twelve and the majority of the people at this school had been here since year nine. I passed the basketball courts, tennis courts, rugby field and I finally passed the stables. I had read about there being an equestrian team here at Kingscross. I need to do further investigation later if I want to take horse riding this year. I finally reached the boarding house and was at A floor, thank god I was on the ground and didn't have to climb a flight of stairs. I placed my gear down outside my door and shoved the key into the lock. I turned the key, unlocking the door. I pushed the door open slowly to see a queen-sized bed in the middle of the room. A bedside table on each side of the bed, a desk with a printer facing to the west side of the room. Opposite the bed was chested drawers and on the east side of the room was a bathroom. Benefits of being shipped off to a private school. I sighed and just wanted to sleep, but I knew I had to go visit the stables. Just five minutes, I told myself and set an alarm on my phone. Just five minutes.
