A piece of toilet paper was rolled up and stuck into each of her nostrils. Her eyes were red and puffy enough that she wasn't able to open them properly. Most of the toilet paper roll was used up next to her. Next to it, chocolate silver wrappers lay scattered among the empty pint of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream with a dirty spoon inside.

Cassandra was truly heart broken. There was a pain in her chest that could only be understood by those who knew heartbreak. Her chest felt constrained and at the worst times during this breakup, it truly felt like she had forgotten how to breathe. She desired to escape. To get in a car and drive miles and miles away in any direction. In her fantasy, she ends up on a beach and could yell anything she wanted to. She would scream until her throat couldn't take it.

But Cassandra was more responsible than that. Instead, she lays on her couch and watches romantic comedies. And when it's too hard, she'll settle for a nice, innocent childhood cartoon. The beauty of living alone was that she was able to look as disgusting and pathetic as she wanted without any judgement. Also, walking around naked was a huge perk.

"Tu eres el amor de mi vida. Cásate conmigo. No importa lo que dice tu padre." // "You are the love of my life. Elope with me. I don't care about what your father thinks." Emilio pulled Cecilia in for a hungry kiss, his manly hand on her cheek tilting her soft lips towards his own, and his other on her lower back to engulf her into his thick, muscular body. They stood on the beach where they first met. He kissed her with an insatiable hunger. Cecilia's luscious, brown hair was picked up by the wind, and her tanned skin glowed from the golden sunset.

Cassandra's telenovela was interrupted by a text message from the only people who understood her.

Kai: PLS ANSWER US
Lindsay: if you don't answer we're coming over n dragging u back to society (the mall)

Cassandra's only response to the group chat message was a verbal groan and a tossing of her phone to the side.

And in approximately an hour and fifteen minutes, Kai tugging Cassandra's left arm and Lindsay tugging her right in the opposite direction.

"Come on! You have got to get dressed. You can't live like this forever!" Kai urged as the team of two girls finally pulled Cassandra onto her toes.

Lindsay winced, and handed her a shimmery, coral loofah on a stick nonetheless, and empathetically agreed, "She's right. You need to shower. It's time."

Cassandra pouted and grabbed the loofah on the stick, "Fine. I will shower. But I will have you know that my lack of hygiene management has been in protest of the male species. I have renounced them. Also, I'm only going because I need new shirts."

Kai and Lindsay thought it was best to agree, knowing very well it wasn't so.

After five stores in, two new, discounted shirts pushed onto her by her friends, and four fancy lotions later, Cassandra was more than ready for a shopping snack and it was rightfully her turn to drag her friends to the food court.

"I think your focus should be school right now. Really distract yourself with your assignments," Lindsay suggested, spinning her fork and gracefully nibbling on some noodles. Her dirty blonde hair hung over her shoulder in big, loose curls. Her brown eyes and delicate features represented her friendly nature accurately. She was a very approachable person, and Cassandra always admired how easy it was for her to meet new friends.
