Fetus growing,
its mother is glowing.
Her stomach is round,
first ultrasound.
Bundle of joy,
a little baby boy.
He laughs and cries,
experiencing unknown lows and highs.
Years go by
without having to try
to be reasonable and responsible.
There are minimal amounts
of a sense of right and wrong,
but things always get better after a song.
At school,
teachers seem to be cool.
One plus one is two
and tamed animals live in a zoo.
He starts forgetting chores
and slams the doors
As he goes through each teenage phase
in a daze.
Influences from the outside:
he knows the rules, yet does not abide.
Studying sucks less than failing
celebrate while your peers are wailing.
Being turned against taught him self-reliance
and with that, came defiance.
A lack of trust and care
made him realize that life isn't fair.
And although stripped bare,
he'll still be there.
