-2 Weeks Later-
I woke up, got out of bed, and walked over to my calendar.
"November 19th," I said to myself, stretching.
Thanksgiving was coming up fast and I was not ready for the family drama but, I was ready for Black Friday. I went to the bathroom, showered, and pulled on a red skirt that came to my mid-thigh, a long-sleeved black shirt, grabbed my leather jacket and sat it beside my backpack, and did my makeup. I slipped on my black Converse, grabbed my jacket and backpack, and walked to Kevin's room, letting him know it was time to go to school. We walked out to the car, got in, and Kevin looked over at me.
"Hey Nicky, do you think it would be okay if I went to one of my friend's Thanksgiving?" He asked, suddenly.
"I don't think Mom would let you. Which friend?" I asked, wondering who he would rather spend the holiday with.
"There's this girl that I'm kind of dating." He said shyly.
"What!" I shouted, probably a little too excited.
"Yeah, her name is Lexie and she asked if I could go to her Thanksgiving but, if you don't think mom would let me then I won't ask. Rob has been in a good mood and I don't want to ruin it." He said, sounding upset.
"I know buddy, Steve invited me to his too. Enough being sad," I said, changing the subject, "I want to hear about this Lexie girl." I said, remembering the letters I had found a few weeks back.
"She's really pretty and she's sweet and she likes going to the arcade. She doesn't think I'm a loser." He said, laughing slightly at his self-depressing joke.
"You aren't a loser," I said matter of factly.
"Either way, she's cool though." He said, smiling to himself.
"Are you taking her to the Snow Ball next month?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I was thinking about it." He said, blushing. "Remember to bring me a chaperone form," I said, smiling at him as we pulled up to the middle school.
"Got it." He said, getting out.
"Love you," I said before he shut the door. I drove up to the high school, parked, and looked around.
Steve wasn't here yet. Nancy and Jonathan walked into the school. I watched as the other students mingled at their cars, pretending they weren't cold. I opened my door, slipped my jacket on, and put my backpack on. I grabbed my keys and was about to walk into school when I felt a presence approaching. I looked around to see Billy walking towards me.
"Hey, I'm Billy Hargrove and I would like to start over." He said, smiling at me and sticking a hand out.
"Well, Hargrove, have you gotten help with your anger issues?" I asked, shutting my door.
"I have. I've been in therapy, I've been working out more instead of fighting, and I've talked to Max more. I've missed hanging out with you." He said, his smile fading.
"I've missed you too Hargrove but, I'm going to need to see improvement before I fully forgive you," I said, smiling slightly before wrapping my arms around his waist. I felt him wrap his arms around me and hug me tightly.
