Once we dropped the kids off at my house, Billy and I headed to the Hawkins Diner. We pulled up to the diner and parked. Billy hopped out of the car and rushed over to open my door.
"Well, aren't you a gentleman today." I said, smiling.
"Let's go." He said, leading the way up to the door. We walked in and were seated at a booth.
"Hello, welcome to Hawkins Diner. Can I start you two with a sweet tea or a Coke?" The waitress asked, looking Billy up and down, but he kept his eyes on me.
"Can I have a Dr. Pepper?" I asked, smiling.
"I'll have a Coke." Billy said, glancing up at the girl.
"I'll get that right out." She said, smiling down at Billy, and placed the menus on the table before rushing off.
"She can't keep her eyes off of you." I said, giggling.
"And I can't keep mine off of you." He said, smiling.
"Hargrove, what happened to you in these last two weeks?" I asked, smiling.
"I realized how much I liked you." He said, looking out the window.
"Whatever." I said, rolling my eyes and picking up the menu.
"I did. Don't worry though, I'm still the same asshole, just not as explosive." He said, winking.
"You better live up to that statement Hargrove." I said, deciding that I was going to get chicken strips.
"I will." He said, looking down at the menu. The girl came back and sat down for our drinks.
"Are you two ready to order?" She asked, looking at Billy.
"I want a cheeseburger with no onion and a side of fries." He said, handing her the menu, rudely, while still looking at me.
"I'll have chicken strips with a sis and some honey mustard." I said, trying not to giggle at Billy's actions.
"I'll have those put in right away." She said, swaying her hips as she left, hoping Billy would look.
"She is all about you Hargrove." I said, smiling.
"She's burning holes through me." He said, chuckling.
"Hey, there is a party going on a little later, do you want to go?" He asked, smirking.
"Of course." I said, smiling.
Billy and I had been enjoying ourselves and had finished eating when the girl brought over the ticket, handing it directly to Billy.
"Take your time." The girl said, smiling at Billy, and walked away.
"Oh my God." Billy said, almost bursting out in laughter.
"What?" I asked, looking over him.
"She wrote her number down on the ticket." He said, laughing.
"Are you serious?" I asked, laughing but also a little irritated. "I'm sitting right here. How does she know we aren't dating?" I asked, laughing.
"She doesn't." Billy said, suddenly smiling.
"Are you up for some slight destruction?" I asked giggling.
"Maybe." He said, looking excited and confused. I grabbed the ticket from him and stormed up to the register and watched the girl's eyes grow.
"What the fuck is this? Do you think you can just leave your number for MY boyfriend? Who the fuck do you think you are?" I asked, raising my voice and causing a scene.
