TJ POV

"Wakey wakey sleepyhead"

Cyrus yawned and stretched as my alarm went off. I quickly turned off my alarm and got up from my bed.

"How'd you sleep?"

"I slept great. Thanks for letting me borrow your hoodie."

"I didn't want you to freeze to death," I laughed a little.

"Heh, thanks," he said as he started to take off the hoodie.

"No, keep it."

"You sure?"

"Yeah."

"Okay," he said with his cute smile.

I ruffled through his fluffy hair with my fingers admiring how cute he looked. I mean he just looked nice. I don't know why I'm thinking like that-

"So let's get ready for school."

We both got ready and grabbed all our stuff and went downstairs for breakfast. We ate some pancakes and some of the muffins Cyrus made for me. Once we finished, we head out the door and walked to our school.

Once we got there, we saw our friends hanging out by the lockers.

"Hey TJ, hey Cyrus," said Andi.

"Hey everyone," said Cyrus.

Buffy raised her eyebrows once she noticed that me and Cyrus came in together. I suddenly backed away a little from Cyrus without even realizing.

"So are you all ready for the Club Fair after lunch?" asked Andi.

"Yeah! I hope there's some clubs I like!" exclaimed Jonah with his usual smile.

"Not sure if I want to join any clubs this year considering I already have my basketball team to worry about," said Buffy.

"So Andi, what club are you going to join?" asked Amber as she moved next to her.

"Probably the Arts & Crafts one!" said Andi.

We kept talking about Club Fair until the bell rang meaning we had to go to History. At least Cyrus was in that class with me.

We all sat down at our desks as our teacher passed out some worksheets to do. The worksheet had about twenty questions that we had to do with our partner. I'm so glad my partner's Cyrus and not some random person I don't know.

"So, do you want to split up the questions? You do ten and I do ten?" I asked.

"Sure, we can finish quicker."

Cyrus POV

I started working on a few of my questions looking through our history book for answers. I noticed TJ was looking at me a lot as he wrote down on his paper. I occasionally looked back at him as well.

I got to like question five and looked at TJ's paper to see if he needed help. He was only on question two.

"Hey muffin."

"Yeah?"

"What does this date say?"

He pointed to a date on his book. He was probably just messing around with me.

"What do you mean?"

"The date. What does it say?"

I noticed he started turning a little red.

"Uh, July 4, 1776?" I had a suspicious look on my face.

"Oh, thanks." He quickly kept working like nothing happened. A few seconds pass and he's on question three and he asks me again.

"And this number?" He points to a long number on a chapter of his book.

I paused for a second and looked at him suspiciously.

"102,678," I responded while eyeing him.

A minute passed and he nervously asked again.

"A-And this one?"

"Look, I have to finish my half of the work, and I'm never gonna finish if you keep asking me every five seconds."

"Right, sorry." He turned a little red and looked back at his book.

Not sure what that was about, but I really wanted to finish our work before class ended, otherwise it'd be homework. I started thinking about what clubs I'd join. I mean I wouldn't want to join one all by myself. I don't know about asking TJ, not sure if he's in the mood. Hmm, Andi was joining the Arts & Crafts one. I'm not nearly as good as her, but it could be fun? I focused back on my paper and kept flipping through pages looking for answers. I wish these books just bolded their answers, it would be way easier to find. I'm just glad I don't have to do all these twenty questions all by myself. I got to question eight. Only two left. I wonder how many TJ has done. I looked over at his paper and it seemed like he had skipped at least four questions.

"I'm almost done, how about you?"

"Oh, I did a couple of them but I skipped these. I'll do them later."

"Okay well, we don't have much time left, class is ending soon."

"Right sorry."

I looked at him as he did his work. He finished a question and looked back at the ones he hadn't done. He just stared at the book and did nothing. We literally only had like seven minutes left of class.

"Are you almost done? Class is almost over and I don't want this for homework."

"Yeah yeah, almost done."

"Okay. Hurry please."

"Actually, what does this number say?" He pointed to another long number from his book.

"What's with all the number questions? I don't have time to play around, I really don't want this for homework, I just want to finish, can you just please answer those questions quickly? If not I'll do them."

He just looked down at his book with cute puppy dog eyes. I mean it didn't matter. He isn't doing his share of work. I still can't stay mad at him-

"You know what fine, I'll do the work myself."

I started quickly flipping through pages and looking for the answers. Only three questions left, Cyrus. You can do this. Three minutes left. Two questions. I looked faster through the whole chapter of the book. I occasionally looked over at TJ. He was just watching me work with a hurt look. He looked so- focus Cyrus focus! One minute. Last question! I scribbled as fast as I could even though it all looked like a sloppy mess. I quickly wrote down our names (should have done that from the start) and handed in the papers to the teacher just as the bell had rung.

I walked outside the class since it was time for lunch. I saw TJ quickly following me.

"Wait up!"

"What do you want?"

"Well we're still eating lunch together, right?"

"Yeah."

"Look, I'm really sorry Cy."

I walked a little faster over to the lunch table noticing we were there before the rest of our friends.

"Please muffin." He grabbed my arm and looked at me with those beautiful green eyes that I just couldn't resist.

"Okay, I'm listening."

"Promise not to judge me or tell anyone else?"

I sighed.

"Promise."

"Okay, well I-I have a learning disability named dyscalculia. It gives me a hard time understanding numbers, especially numbers that big from the book."

I felt so bad. All the anger inside of me evaporated. I gave him a tight hug and rested my head on his chest.

"I'm so sorry I treated you that way."

He wrapped his arms around me.

"It's okay muffin, you didn't know."

I slowly rested my head on his shoulder and smiled.

Hope you all enjoyed this long chapter!
