Steven's P.O.V

"What!!" Everyone gasped.

I simply smile and and cross my arms peacefully.

"Yeah, I wanna do it. They deserve happiness after so many years plagued with grief" I reply.

The Gems, plus Connie, all look disapprovingly at me. Garnet, as always, remains straight faced, Pearl frowns and crosses her arms, and Amethyst just looks at the ground like she's being put in a bad spot. Lapis looks worried and scared for me, while Peridot's face is abuzz with shock and Bismuth's expression is one of total disbelief. Connie, being the worst of them all, shakes her head with the frown AND has her arms crossed. We got ourselves a full house now, ladies and gentlemen.

"Steven, it's not that I don't appreciate your thoughtfulness towards others, but are you really sure that this is something that you're up for?" Bismuth asks in a concerned manner.

"Absolutely" I say, keeping a strong, confident smile, "The Diamonds aren't as hostile as before and now that I've gotten on better terms with all three, I think it's definitely something I can swing and hit a home run with".

"Biscuit, think logically! Those evil dictators are no different than those diabolical rulers throughout early American history that I taught you about. You'd basically be giving yourself up to them again, but this time, you'd be WILLING to go. It's even worse than when you wouldn't fuse with me at the Aquamarine/Topaz attack" Connie argues.

"Chill, Connie" Amethyst huffs, "I personally think Steven's plenty justified in what he's doing and I for one would be fine accompanying him to Homeworld".

I grin at my sister's words, appreciating her loyalty and kind attitude.

"That's very thoughtful of you, Amethyst, but don't stress yourself worrying about it. I'll be going to Homeworld by myself" I softly interrupt.

Garnet frowns deeper and Pearl looks ready to faint, meanwhile Lapis looks about ready to break down into a panic attack.

"But, Steven, even if you go, how do you know that you'll ever come back. I don't want them to force you to stay on Homeworld for the rest of eternity. I mean, how will my Beach Summer Fun Buddy and I be able to do music together if your fifty light years away from us?" Lapis speaks, sounding uncertain.

I sigh calmly and place a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

"Please, Lapis. You know better than anyone that when it comes to me, there ain't nothing that can hold me back if I go forward with an idea. If I want to come to Earth at a certain time, I'll drag the Diamonds by their ears and make them if I gotta. Course that scenario is a bit on the extreme side, but you get what I mean, right?" I console my friend.

"You're not listening to me, Steven!" Connie cries in frustration, making me roll my eyes, "You said that we'd be Jam Buds forever and that we'd work together to solve each others problems. That's nowhere in anything that you said. You're just gonna have a repeat of what happened the last time you gave yourself up to that corrupted world".

"You don't know that, Connie" I huff, turning around to glare at my friend.

"Maybe, but examine your track record with those tyrants. Made yourself look more guilty at that trial, destroyed any Gems that they sent to capture you, avoided their watching eyes..." She rants on.

"...Talked it over with them, convinced White to help aid in the corruption reversal, got Yellow to be nicer, had them learn to be more affectionate. The list goes on and on, but I know you were heading in that direction, so I'll just stop there since I don't have much time" I cut her off, grinning smugly while narrowing my eyes at Connie.
