Who is she to complain?

She didn't lose the job and surprisingly, Vaughn didn't lose his job too. The manager is now serving his time in jail.

Apparently, the whole case went up to the higher management and the CEO of the Davis Holding—-mother company of the restaurant they are working in was very furious about what happened.

She was told by the other staff that he personally came to the restaurant the morning after that incident. After a week, he came again and met with the task force sent to manage the restaurant until they find a replacement for their previous manager.

Alexandra McHale, that's her name.

She met her right on the day she got back to work after a week in the hospital where her mom was also admitted for her immediate surgery in the lungs.

Vaughn has been very caring for her and although she didn't want to give colors to the way he was acting, she couldn't help herself but slowly warm up to the young man.

It was during those days in the hospital when he visited her that she realized how handsome he really is.

And how wrong of her to consider him nothing but a jerk who knows nothing about service.

That day, she noticed him staying away from her for some reasons. It's like he was never this caring gentleman to her when she was in the hospital and all of a sudden he was so distant from her. Not that she expects him to be always there...but didn't they became friends?

Or did she just assume his kindness to be something else... she sighed and again tried to convince herself that at least, she had her job and her mom is getting well in Dr. Walton's hands.

"You know you won't get your way with me, Vaughn. So why bother?" She suddenly heard Alexandra or Alex, as how she wanted to be called, spoke as she walked out of her office with her hand hanging on Vaughn's arm.

"Come on! Even you now, seriously?!" He flirted back making Alex shake her head at him before petting his hair.

She saw all these and couldn't help but feel a sting of jealousy. She hated the fact that Vaughn can swoon everyone, maybe even a man would be swooned by this blue eyed devil.

"You get back to work, before I tell the CEO that you're just playing here." She pushed him making him turn around to face her again.

"Just this once, Alex. Please, don't make me go and serve there!"

"You can't bribe me Vaughn, ok? Your charm hasn't worked with me since you've gotten that tall...you're so hatefully tall!"

"Pff, you still love me. You've to admit that." He pinched her cheeks not knowing the pair of eyes watching them with disappointment. He has flirted with everyone in the restaurant but she didn't care. But him, flirting with their young boss is another thing...

Who is she compared to Alex? She's so damn gorgeous and rich. And from the way they talked, it seemed like Vaughn and Alex had quite a relationship before...

"You get back to the floor, before I kick you." Alex pushed his face while shaking her head and Rachel decided to turn away and hide herself.

She jumped on her seat when Vaughn placed a glass of fresh juice in front of her.

"A penny for your thought?" He asked making her look up to him as he took the seat right beside her.

"What are you doing here, not touching your food? You have to eat, you know that right?" He pushed her plate closer to her as he took a bite from his sandwich.
