The Awakening - Finale

Rachel felt Vaughn stirring up a little as she held his hand in hers.

"Vaughn..." she whispered softly as he frowned before slowly opening his eyes.

Blinking to adjust his eyesight, Vaughn breathed deeply as his eyes settled on Rachel's tired but angelic face.

"R-Rach...?" He whispered smiling a little before pressing her hand in his.

"You're here..." he pulled her hand and pressed it on his lips.

"H-how did you get here...?" He asked with a frown as he finally wakes up.

"Vance brought me here." She replied squeezing his hand in hers.

"Vance? Y-you've met him..." he said shaking his head. He learned from his mother that Vaughn didn't know about her seeing his twin during Adrianna's birthday. After the accident, Vaughn decided not to contact her to avoid her from worrying.

Nobody told him about that night that she thought it was him with Adrianna.

"Why didn't you tell me, Vaughn?" She asked although she almost know the answer now. Gabrielle told her everything she knew about Vaughn's side lf the story.

"I was afraid..." he smiled timidly.

"Afraid of what?"

"I don't really know... I just know that I didn't want to lose you...or put a wall between us just because of who I am. I wanted you to love me regardless of who I am or who my family is."

"I love you..." she said cupping his cheeks.

"No matter how dumb you really are... I loved you and it hurt me that you didn't tell me the truth."

"I'm so sorry... I didn't want to hurt you or frighten you so I decided to keep the truth until we're stronger...until I know that you're no longer afraid or you trust me more."

"But I do..." she said with tears starting to aim to fall again.

"You were so fragile, Rach... you were so soft and gentle despite being tough on me at work... I didn't want to overwhelm you with all these. I didn't want to scare you away because I felt that you would, if you have known earlier who my family is..."
she looked down on their hands at that.

He knows her more than she knows herself. Didn't she run away and hated him after learning that he's an heir...

Even when it was revealed to her this morning that Vaughn has always been faithful to her and that it was in fact Vance who is engaged to Adrianna, didn't she still thought of ending things between them because she didn't believe in herself, nor did she trust him enough to make it work despite their status?

Didn't she tell his own mother that she wasn't good enough for her?

She has already convinced herself that their relationship is impossible to happen just because he's got everything and she has nothing.

She has already lost trust in them...in him.

And that's exactly what he was afraid to happen.

"Tell me..." he reached for her chin to lift her face up until she's looking at him.

"Would you still have loved me if you knew who I am? Would you have trusted me if you knew my background?" She didn't answer.

"That's what I was so afraid of. I know I already made quite an impression of being an arsehole...a womanizer...a self-centered brat even before you learned all these... If I had told you first without the chance of showing you my heart, I knew you would've blown me off from the start."
He said softly as his thumb caressed her cheeks.

"I love you too much Rach... I couldn't afford to lose you so I chose to keep the truth until we're solid... until I've proven myself enough—-that I'm not all just a handsome face." He smiled childishly at her making her smile back at him before shaking her head.

"Isn't it true?" He playfully poked her ear knowing how ticklish she is on that part.

"Vaughn!" She hit his arm making him grunt in lain.

"Ouch...!" He complained making her panic.

"I'm so sorry!!! Oh my, did I hurt you?" She asked caressing his arm softly and he pouted like a child before nodding.

"Where does it hurt?" She asked looking into his eyes that are pinned of her face as she leaned closer to him.

"Here..." he said placing her palm on top of his heart.

"It's painful here...?" She asked worriedly while caressing his muscled chest.

Again he nodded.

"Not seeing you for weeks made my heart break so much..." he whispered making her stare at his handsome face.

"You're so cheesy..." she shyly commented removing her hand from his grasp on top of his chest.

"It's true....this really hurt..." he said placing her hand back to the top of his chest.

"I'm here now..." she smiled caressing his face as he looked up to her with so much love in his eyes.

"Are you going to heal my heart, hmm?" He pulled her face closer to his as he lifted himself a little so he can kiss her lips gently.

Rachel smiled at that as an answer before kissing his forehead.

"There's one more that's really painful..." he whispered  lifting her hand away from his chest.

"Vaughn...!" Rach hit his chest again and he giggled seeing her blush like a ripe tomato after placing and pressing her hand on his hardened manhood.

"I missed you so much, mi señorita!" He chuckled pulling her face down to his once again before kissing her savagely and wrapping his arms around her petite body until she's on top of him.
