I heard someone calling my name. My body shot up. I looked around. There was a doctor in front of me. I sat up.

"I'm sorry doctor." I apologized.

"It's okay." He smiled. I watched him sit down next to me. "Everything appears to be okay with Jason. He has a couple of cracked ribs, but nothing life threatening. Jason also suffered with a broken nose."

"Is that the worst that happened?" I asked as I shifted.

"Yes. He's got some severe cuts and gashes. But nothing that requires stitches."

"Thank you. Is it okay if I see him?"

"Give us another hour or so and we'll make sure to come get you."

I nodded and thanked him again. The doctor got up and left. I rummaged for my phone to call Jason's mom. She didn't pick up. So, I left a voicemail as I said I was. I hung up the phone after the message. Sleep still consumed me. I grabbed Jason's keys from my pocket and decided to grab some coffee. I heard Jason's phone ring. Looking down at his phone, I noticed it was Melody's name. I shouldn't answer it, but I did anyways.

"Jason?" I heard Melody ask.

I sighed. "It's not Jason. It's Skylar." That came off bitchy and it certainly made me cringe.

"Oh sorry. Is Jason okay?" Melody asked with worry.

"He should be. Just had a run in with someone. Are you okay?" Although I didn't know this girl very well, she cared about Jason too.

"Yeah. I'm fine. I just wanted to let him know I'm out of the hospital. I didn't get a chance to thank him."

"I'll definitely let him know."

I rubbed the sleep from my eyes. "Thank you. Let me know if you or Jason need anything."

"I will." We said our goodbyes and hung up.

I got into Jason's car. I decided to get food since I haven't eaten since yesterday. When all that was done, I picked up a coffee and headed back to the hospital. I went back to the waiting room. Jason's wallet was still sitting in my jacket pocket. I pulled the picture out. The memory flooded back into my mind.

The summer breeze was cool. You couldn't feel the summer heat. Jason was following close behind me. My summer dress was flowing freely around my thighs. I found a shaded spot. Jason tossed the blanket down. We sat down on the blanket.

"One more year, babe." Jason chuckled.

"I can't wait. That means one more year closer to us being home free. Where we can start a life together." I looked towards Jason. He wrapped an arm around me and pulled me close. He kissed my forehead.

"I love you." Jason's lips met mine.

"I love you too."

Jason ran his thumb over the crook my arm. I pushed myself up onto one arm. "Have I ever told you that you're the prettiest girlfriend a man can ever have?"

I chuckled at how corny that sounded. "You're definitely a romantic, Holland.". I repositioned myself to be sitting up. "But I believe you have. To answer the question."

He sat up next to me. His lips met my cheek. I saw Jason pull out his phone. "I'm not makeup ready!" I cried jokingly.

"Oh, come on, babe! You're beautiful."

I faced his front camera. His head was resting on my shoulder. He started making goofy faces. I started laughing and then he snapped the picture. Jason saved it to his camera roll. He was smiling whilst I was laughing. I had to admit I looked good. Jason set his phone down. His kissed my lips again. I felt his hand rest on my thigh above my dress. We laid down on the blanket. I was at the bottom as usual. Jason's hand slowly started going under my dress. And he made me so happy.

I snapped out of the memory. The doctor who talked to me early called me over. "You may go see him now." He said with a smile.

"Is Jason awake?"

The doctor sighed. "Not yet. But hopefully soon he will be."

I nod. The doctor took me to his room. I opened the door and instantly felt my stomach drop at the sight. The doctor closed the door. Jason's face was blue and purple and there were cuts all over. His nose was bent slightly. I pulled up a chair next to him. My hand grasped his. Landon better go to jail. He has no right to tear someone down like this.

There was a knock at the door. I saw someone come in. Jason's mom appeared. I could tell she was devastated. "He's going to be okay." I said.

She nodded. "I don't want to see him here anymore after this."

I sighed. "A police officer came to talk to me. I told them about Landon."

A smile formed on her face. "Hopefully everything will go back to normal after this."

I couldn't agree more. She sat down on Jason's bed. I left the room to let them be alone. Once I left the room, my phone rang. It was an unknown number. I decided to answer it.

"Miss Blake?" It was the officer from earlier.

"This is she."

"We have Landon here at the station. I just wanted to let you know this, so you are aware of the situation."

"Thank you for telling me." I smiled.

"If you can get the names of the other two you have mentioned, feel free to call this number."

"I will. Thank you, officer."

We hung up. Finally, there is peace now. I went back to Jason's room. Jason's mom looked towards me.

"You're happy all of a sudden."

I chuckled. "I think it's time for this to end."
