"D-daughter?" Peter mumbled. Shoot. Dad spoke too soon. I glared at him. He just shrugged. " he would have found out anyways. Sooner or later". He isn't wrong. Peter was still quiet letting it all sink in.
"Peter I was going to... actually I'm not even going to lie to you. I was NOT going to tell you. I mean what were you expecting me to say? Hey Peter I'm Starks daughter FYI?" Peter seemed to just sit and listen without saying anything. Dad just kind of watched all of this amused. "Wow Max way to be a great friend..." he teased. I just rolled my eyes. He just had to didn't he? "I have to go and get some work done... ok bye Peter!" I walked off quickly. I ran up the stairs speed into my room and locked the door. As I sighed I slid down my door running my hands through my hair. How could I mess up so bad?
Tony POV:
Peter still stood there shocked. I padded him on the shoulder " get with the program buddy why you so slow?" I pointed to the lab as we walked down stairs.
" so... how long have you been hiding your daughter for?" He finally spoke. Max is a clear resemblance of me so I'm so confused why he is so shocked.
" Max has been here for some time now. She is used to this way of life now and she doesn't want to go back." I said as I looked through my messy lab for a brief case. " so... she doesn't want to go back..." he mumbled. I turned around and motioned him to have a seat. " listen kid, Max is happy here. She was in wild danger when she lived in queens. Years ago when she was born my wife died causing me to fall into depression and forget about my own child. She was stolen by HYDRA. After YEARS of searching for her over cameras,spy, and record searches I finally found her. I knew that just taking her back wouldn't work because she was already so grown up. Luckily for me everything kind of turned out on its own. I had one of my men spike a drink and the rest was history. She left to Shuri's house and from there on everything went well. She moved here and is getting along with all the avengers very well. She seems to have a special bond with every one of them. I couldn't be more proud of my daughter." I bragged after all she IS my biggest pride.
" Mr. Stark what about me? Is she going to know my secret?" Peter asked looking slightly concerned. I actually had to think about that. Max wasn't close with Peter therefore she wouldn't really care. However the part about actually telling her sounds too hard. Not something that an amazing father such as myself should have. " Max will find out in her own time. Don't tell her just yet but it's not a secret or anything after all I trust my own daughter. But she doesn't need to know yet."
POV- outside of Tony's property
Right outside of Tony's property stood Ruby with some binoculars. She couldn't step foot onto his land because his security system would go off. I mean what billionaire wouldn't have a security system around his house?
" I found her," she whispered into the radio she was holding. There was a "pshshshst" sound before a reply. " then take her."
