(Archive) Icing The Cake

Last night was so shit, don't get me wrong, sleeping with Monika next to me was great, but I couldn't help but wonder about Natsuki, she was acting a bit off, ever since we decided to make this cooking date she began to act differently...

"Is everything alright Y/N?" Monika asked me.

I quickly looked to Monika who was holding my phone out to me.

"I know you didn't sleep well last night, I could feel your breathing become erratic." She told me as I took my phone from her and put it in my pocket.

"I'm fine." I told her as I put on a smile.

She simply looked deep into my eyes and took my hands in hers. "Y/N, you know I can tell you're lying."

As much as I wanted to tell her I was fine again I knew it was pointless.

"It's about Natsuki, she's been acting different ever since we planned today." I told Monika.

"Yes, I have noticed a change in her behaviour as well." Monika acknowledged.

"I've got a bad feeling about it."

"Well maybe try and ask her, despite her tsundere personality she seems to be quite open towards you when it's just you two."

"I think I might just do that."

Monika turned around and sat down at the desk and began putting some code into the laptop.

"Ready to go?" She asked me.

"Totally gonna bake the shit outta this cake." I told her.

She just rolled her eyes at me and pressed a button on the keyboard and I was sucked into a wormhole of coding and appeared in my "house" a few seconds after.

"Well I guess I gotta wait now."

I heard a knock from the front door, I knew it was Natsuki so I opened the door and saw her standing there with four bags full of cooking ingredients and baking stuff. I quickly grabbed the bags from her and carried them inside as she closed the door behind me.

"Did you carry these all the way here, they're really heavy." I said as I put the bags down on the kitchen bench.

"Yep, I may be small but I'm not weak." She told me as she jabbed me in the back.

"Fair enough."

I started to take all the ingredients out of the bags while Natsuki began to take the utensils and other stuff out.

"So what kind of cake you wanna bake?" Natsuki asked me.

I thought about it for a few seconds then decided.

"How about just a basic chocolate cake with some mint icing." I suggested.

"Pretty easy, we could add some flare into the icing too." She told me.

"Flare?"

"You'll see."

She winked at me and I could feel a slight blush on my cheeks and a faint smile grew on Natsuki's lips. She took out a large bowl from the cabinet underneath the bench and began to put some ingredients in.

"Are you gonna do anything or you just gonna stare at me?" Natsuki asked with her classic tsundere tone.

"What do you need me to do?" I asked her since I had next to no knowledge of baking.

She shook her head and looked at me.

"I need a mixer, cake pan and some baking paper so the mix doesn't stick." She told me.
