"Well I'm surprised Jessica."

I looked at the doctor as he wrapped a new set of bandage around my ribs. "You healed up rather quickly." He said.

I've been on bed rest for a whole week and it was hell.

Zeke snitched on me and told Eric about the pains, Eric of all people!

The guy that did this shit to me. I really wanted to punch Zeke for what he did, but I knew that he was only trying to help me.

At least it wasn't Max.

"So that means I can get back to work." I beamed. I pulled down my shirt and swiftly got off the bed.

"Wait, w"

Before he could finish that sentence I was out the door. I didn't need him telling me that I needed to be on bed rest for another week.

Besides, the raid was today.

I loved raids. It was fun and better than training initates all damn day.

I walked through the halls of dauntless, practically skipping with happiness.

"Why are you all chipper?"

Oh fuck me!

I glared as I looked at Eric. Why! Why does the devil himself always have to show up when I'm having a good time.

I crossed my arms and cocked my eyebrow at him. "Why does it matter to you huh?" I shot back at him, smirking away.

Eric watched me closely and smirked. "Whoa where did this attitude come from." He chuckled darkly. "I mean all I did was ask a question."

I opened my mouth to say a clever comeback but nothing came out. I racked my brain but still nothing was popping up.

I glared at him before almost stomping my feet and pouting.

Ugh why is he like this?! He's such a dick! Why couldn't he be like Zeke? He was cute and nice and sweet. Not a complete pain in the ass.

"Shut up Eric before I kick your ass.". Clearly that threat didn't scare him since all he did was smirk at me. He raised an eyebrow and slightly raised his head as if he was daring me to do so.

I would be lying if I said I didn't feel slightly intimidated under his gaze but, I couldn't just back down.

"If you're just gonna annoy me then I'm leaving." I said before walking away. Much to my dismay I heard Eric quickly follow.

"I wasn't annoying you I just asked you a simple question."

"Well I don't want you around me so yeah, you are annoying me." I shot back, rolling my eyes and slightly walking fast.

But because I have such short legs, Eric can easily catch up to me.

"What? I can't know why my partner in crime is having such a great day?"

Partner in crime? Did he slip in the shower and hit his head or something?

I stopped walking and turned towards him, only to be greeted with that same stupid smirk. I was sick of his dumb questions and remarks, I just wanted him to go.

"I was cleared for the sweep."

Suddenly that smirk disappeared.

"What?"

"I was cleared for the sweep, you got a hearing problem or something?" I said rolling my eyes.

Eric did say anything, matter of fact his face was a little hard to read since he never looked at me like that.
