Chapter 3

****the next morning****

I woke up naked in joshes bed.

Josh walked out of the bathroom. His hair was a mess but I liked it that way.

"Hey." He said as he climbed back into bed.

"Hi." I said.

I rolled into his arms.

"You ok?" He asked. He kissed my forehead.

"Yeah."

"So what do you want to do now?"

"I'm going to get ready and head to the hospital"

"Ok ill come with."

"No you have a test tomorrow. Study. Ill be fine."

"Okay ill call Matt and tell him your coming."

"Thanks"

I rolled out of bed. I hopped in the shower.

*******arrives at the hospital*****

"Matt how is she." I asked

"She got out of surgery an last night but she hasn't woken up" he said.

"Oh what did the doctor say."

"Nothing." I didn't sleep very much last night. So I'm going to take a nap. Can you stay in the room with her?"

"Yeah go sleep."

I pulled up a chair to the bedside.

The doctor came in.

"Sara?" He said.

The expression on his face scared me.

"Yeah....." I said.

"I have some bad news." He said.

"What...."

"Karen's condition is special. She's in a coma it's hard to say if she'll ever wake up."

His words hurt. I started to cry.

"I'm sorry. Since Karen doesn't have any guardian that we know of. She listed you as her emergency contact." He said as he walked out the door.

I grabbed her hand.

****the next week*****

Josh is officially my boyfriend.

I've been visiting Karen at the hospital before and often school. Her condition isn't getting better. Since she's not home I've been staying with josh.

My morning classes were cancelled today because of a fair thingy we have every year.

"Hi josh." I said as he walked towards me.

"Hey babe. How's the fair." He said. His smile is so perfect.

"Good haha." He leaned in to kiss me.......

"Sara?" A mans voice said.

"Yes." I answered.

"It's me.....Eric."
