Let's be Alone Together: Book one

The Beginning (Mel's Pov)

I should start with once upon a time, but I'm not your average princess so: Hi everyone this is my story. I'm mel, and if you ask me what my full name is I'll punch you. I'm younger than my sister mal by a year and honestly mom doesn't hover over me as much, then again she doesn't necessarily care about me; anyways the reason she doesn't hover over my every move is because I'm not the oldest and I don't have a name to live up to like mal does. As you might have guessed mal is short for maleficent, which happens to be our mother's name. 

Yes I'm a villain's child, so I had to grow up on a cold, unforgiving, hostile island with a barrier around it. Basically no one goes in or out. All because adam and belle decided to toss us all out here. You'd think the kings and queens would be more compassionate about their subjects, Nope! They're over there in auradon enjoying life while we're knee deep in garbage and have no clean places to sit. I mean don't get me wrong our parents are villains but they could at least make sure we don't eat cold slop every single day for all three meals, if we're lucky enough for three meals a day. The one bright side of being here on the isle is my sister and the vk's we all started hanging out by the time mother had let us out of the castle. (I'm not following the book's plot) There was Jay son of jafar, Carlos son of cruella, and Evie daughter of the evil queen. They each were the same age as mal and treated me as a little sibling, but at least they cared about me.

Anyway, this is where things get interesting. I was watching mal and the gang cause trouble when the two goons who 'protect mother' enter on the scene. "*tsk* stealing candy mal?" Mom's voice calls disappointedly. There she is, mother dearest. "It was from a baby." Mal reasons. "When I was your age I was-" "taking over kingdoms-" "-and striking fear into the villagers." "We know." Mal and I comment dryly. "Come." Mother says smirking. The vk's go to leave but end up being blocked by the goons. "You've all been chosen to go to auradon." She tells us excitedly. I wrinkle my nose in disgust as mother drags us back to the castle.

 I attempt to sneak to my room when we get there but mal latches on to me and gives me an, if I'm suffering you are too, look. "I'm not going to auradon, it's filled with preppy princesses." Mal tells mother. "I'm not going anywhere near the people that decided to throw us all on this trash pile." I add and mother glares at me. "Jay's not going either. Who will help me stock my store." Jay's father tells mother and then he turns to jay and asks, "What did you score?" Jay empties his pockets and my bag. "Evie's not going anywhere until we do something about her unibrow." EQ says and evie touches the space between her eyebrows. "I'm not letting carlos go. Who else will wash my coats, perm my hair, or scrape my bunions." Cruella says lifting her leg up and having carlos catch it. Carlos drops it and says, "I'll go." "But carlos there are dogs there." Cruella argues. "Never mind." Carlos says scared.

Mom goes into a big rant about the good old days and rallies the other parents into letting us go. Now here we are the five of us in a limo on our way to auradon after mal lost the staring contest to mother. Mother gave mal her spell book and EQ gave evie her magic mirror, then mom gave mal and the gang instructions to get fairy godmother's wand and me strict instructions not to get in their way or do anything to mess them up. "Hey mel you're totally gonna use this with me right?" Mal asks holding up the book in attempts to cheer me up. I simply shrug and sneakily shove a shit ton of candy in my purse with a laptop that was somehow in my seat when I first got in. Mal pats me on the back to comfort me and then goes back to reading the spell book.
