I was working with a new trainee who arrived a few weeks ago. The trainee was ex-military and perfect for what I had planned. I put him through a grueling training session as we sparred with each other.

The guy's reflexes were quick. His endurance and stamina were stellar. It was vital to have all these components as a bodyguard. We engaged in mixed martial arts as we fought.

Hand to hand combat was crucial when you're unable to draw a weapon. Once we had that part down, we moved to the tactical room. I worked with him to strip a gun, put it back together, and then hit the gun range.

I stood there and watched the guy as he shot the gun and reloaded even quicker. I adjusted targets at different feet until he hit dead center. It's best not to be too comfortable with one distance. Expect all the threats.

After he finished, I instructed him to change and meet me in my office. I left the shooting range and walked into my office as I found Sergio waiting for me. He handed me a file as I took it. I sat down at my desk and flipped through the data, reading through the information.

"How's the new trainee working out?" Sergio asked me.

"The trainee is quick, which is what I'm looking for in a recruit. Vincent wants someone to blend in with the students. Lexie is adamant about no bodyguards. This information proves she needs protection, as do her siblings," I said, holding the file up in my hand.

"It took a lot of digging, but I could uncover a threat," Sergio explained as someone knocked at the door. I told the person to come into the office, and the door opened. The recruit entered the office and closed the door behind him.

"Take a seat," I said as the recruit sat down in front of me. "It's been a month since you arrived, and I'm impressed with your skills. I spoke with someone who wants to hire you to protect their daughter."

"Okay," the recruit said. "Is the someone high profile?"

"But the girl isn't in the business," I answered as the recruit looked at me. "She's in high school."

The guy gave me a strange look.

"The employer is hiring you to go undercover to protect his daughter," I added.

"As of what?" The guy asked me.

"As a high school student, shave your beard and cut your hair to fit in with the other students," I answered.

"Say what now?" The guy asked, surprised.

"You're going back to high school," I informed him as he looked at me like I lost my mind.

"There's a threat to the girl, and it's part of an ongoing investigation. High school students are being targeted and lured into a false sense of security," Sergio told the guy.

"But you want me to go back to high school. You realize people are going to suspect me," the guy replied with a doubtful look.

Sergio and I looked at each other, then at the guy, and smiled. He gave us a suspicious look.

Vincent met me and the recruit at a salon. He called Bailey and asked for a favor. She was happy to oblige.

The guy stood there as Vincent and I looked at him.

"The beard needs to go along with the hair length. I want the guy clean-shaven and fitted with proper attire. Add glasses while you're at it," Vincent ordered.

"Whoa, wait a minute. I like my beard, and I'm not wearing glasses. I refuse to look like a nerd," the guy replied.

"Do you like your freedom?" Vincent asked him.

"You can't threaten me," the guy said.

"I can and I will," Vincent spoke. "The girl you are protecting will be my daughter, along with her siblings. You will need a name too."

It was going so well with the recruit and Vincent. Both were stubborn and refused to budge until I stepped in to mediate. We came to a compromise, and the guy got shoved down in the salon chair, grumbling as two women went to work on him. They cut his hair and shaved his beard, then plucked his eyebrows. He attempted to bolt, and I pushed him back down into the chair.

"Stay," I ordered the guy as the women continued to work on him, and he gripped the arms of the salon chair. It took two hours until they finished. Next was clothing, and we took him to a store as Vincent picked out outfits for him along with a school uniform.

The guy went to change and emerged in different styles. We either agreed or disagreed as he rolled his eyes until we found enough clothes to carry him over. The final touch was glasses. We fitted him with stylish, nonprescription lenses.

We sat in chairs and waited as the recruit emerged in full disguise.

"I feel ridiculous," the guy said.

"Yeah, well, you look like a student and a dork," I remarked as I chuckled.

"It's doable. I must return to work. Finish up with what with who's his name," Vincent said as he got up and left.

"Well, he's something special," the guy mumbled.

"Vincent is firm about who is around his family. Now we will refer to you as Thomas Harrington, the fourth," I informed him of his alias.

"Perfect, even the name sounds douchey," he grumbled as I chuckled.

I handed him a file with all the information in it.

"Inside, you will find all your details and family life. Your parents are away on business all the time. You live in a posh house but prefer to study. You are working towards Harvard and excel in academics. You transferred schools because of your father's company," I explained. The guy read through the information. Then I left as he stood there.

Thomas

I didn't think I would end up with a job protecting a snobby rich kid. I thought it would be a more important job. I fucking hate high school, and now I'm stuck in a snobby private school.

It was a job, nothing more, nothing less. I grabbed the bags of clothes and walked out to my bike. I shoved them into the compartments, then put on a helmet before starting my bike. I checked out the "house" I was staying in while undercover.

I pulled up to a mansion and pulled off my helmet. I looked at it and shook my head. I set my helmet down and walked up to the front door, opening it with Cruz's key. I let out a low whistle as I looked around. I checked out the place.

It was insane how much money people spend on a house like this. I guess when you come from an obscene amount of money, you can buy whatever the hell you want. I should make myself at home since I'm stuck here. I can't believe I have to go back to high school. This blows.
