After graduation, I spent the summer preparing for the host program. My parents flew us to Spain so that I could settle into my living arrangements. I was staying in a small home alone, but close to Martina and Santiago. Dad felt more comfortable having me close to people we knew.

It was a change, but it was for a year. During that year, I would travel to other countries, learning different techniques. I would return to the states to finish my training.

After settling, my parents and siblings stayed for a week; then flew home. I never knew this type of freedom before since I had bodyguards. It was surreal. I took the opportunity and got acquainted with my surroundings. Spain is beautiful and my home since I was born here.

Although I felt like someone was watching me, it's my imagination running wild since my family left. The next day I started classes to learn different cuisines.

I return and pulled out food, preparing a meal. It wasn't bad, but I needed help. After eating, I read, then went to bed. I figure I would need to be well-rested for my first day. That didn't happen, feeling anxious and nervous. I didn't want to fail at this. It was going to be a long night.

The next day, I dragged my butt out of bed and got ready. Ugh, I wish I could sleep longer. I didn't get any sleep last night because of my nerves. I had to remind myself it's the first day, and it will get better.

I left the house and walked to school. I still felt someone watching me. What happens when you have a bodyguard, then don't have one? Your mind races with all these horrible thoughts. I need to stop reading mysteries before bed.

I arrived at the school and entered the building, walking to a classroom. The instructor had everything set up on the tables. We had a stove and oven to cook everything. When everyone arrived, the teacher started the class. I paid attention to the instructor when I noticed some creepy guy looking at me. That's not weird as I tried to pay attention.

I had a feeling I would have to deal with the creep while I took the course. That is fantastic.

After class, I hurried home, and when I arrived, I locked the door. So, I'm in a foreign country without a bodyguard along with no family and have some creepy guy watching me. Oh, did I forget to add I'm single to that list? I sighed.

I made something to eat as I tried to get my mind off of things. I hadn't dated since Santino and had no desire to date anyone. There wasn't anyone that caught my interest, and I didn't want to deal with another heartbreak.

Mom says to give it time, and Dad was good with me taking all the time I need, even if it was for the rest of my life. I fell fast and hard for Santino. I know people would disagree that I did, but I don't think there's a time frame for falling in love.

I need to stop thinking about this because it was a reminder he left. No one would tell me anything or where he went. Trust me; I tried. It was better that way.

A month passed since I started classes. I was learning a lot about cooking and also had some guy bugging me in my class. He kept asking for a date, and I kept declining. Why can't a guy accept no from a woman? It's not that complicated.

I had no interest in dating anyone. I wanted to pass my course, then move onto the next level. The teacher even said I was a natural. I thought he said that. I wasn't sure because he spoke Spanish, and I know a few words. I'm taking a Spanish course to understand what people are saying, and I'm terrible at it.

Besides the creepy guy that keeps asking me out, I have another guy that keeps looking at me in class. I tried to avoid eye contact, but I caught him looking at me every time I look up. If this persists, I will call Dad and ask for a bodyguard. All I want is to complete the program. That's easier said than done.
