Alpha Nathan P.O.V
"Alpha?"

Raising my head from the rising pile of paperwork I am met with Thomas, our newly recruited pack warrior, looking troubled with only his head peaking into my office. This cannot be good news. Instantly, I raise from my seat and walk towards Thomas who takes the opportunity to explain the situation.

"Five rogues were at the northern border, we tried to ask what they were doing but they grinned before diving at us. I tried to contact you but it seemed as though your mind link was blocked Alpha; we did, however, manage to restrain the rogues."

Rogues. Just the word makes the beast rumble awake, they have some fucking nerve.

"Was any of ours injured? Where are the rogues now?" I growl using my Alpha voice.

Thomas quickly stood straight and tall compared to him cowering behind the door originally. Although, I can't blame him for being scared the last time rogues attacked we lost everything.

"No one was hurt Alpha and the rogues are in the dungeon we're waiting on your call" he replied.

Relief washes over me knowing none of my pack was injured. Each member of the pack is supported, respected and protected because we see each other as family, that's what makes us thrive stronger than other packs. The pack warriors who were on patrol today did well at controlling the problem especially with there being no one injured.

"You handled the situation with very well so thank you, Tom, and please pass the message to all of the others. You can all finish patrol early so let the next group start now." I state with pride before walking out the office heading to the dungeons.

Out the corner of my eye, I see Tom grin from the recognition and approval before running in the opposite direction where I presume the others are.

Mind-linking my Beta and Delta I storm towards the dungeons which cause pack members to back away from my form; they know the beast is threatening to come out and no one wants to see that. Not again.

Soon enough the dungeons are in my vision; the dungeons are kept isolated from the pack so the only thing surrounded it is deadly silence. Nodding at the guards I throw the door open and walk into the dungeon to see my just as furious Beta waiting for me.

Ryan Jones. My trusted beta and best friend since I was a child. Our parents were just as close when they ruled over the pack and I could only wish the same for all of our future children. Ryan adapted to Beta life well, with his strong height at 6'1 and muscular build from all of the training. He takes his role seriously and with pride understanding the importance he bears. Both of us became more serious after the attack a few years ago and we both became consumed by darkness. Everyone lost special people in their lives from that attack, Ryan and I were included in that. We destroyed any rogue that came in our way. They didn't even have to get in our way we would still find them, no rogue is innocent. Hostile. Malicious. Destructive. That's what we were. Sometimes I believe I still am.

Shaking my head, I walk up to Ryan placing my hand on his shoulder in support as I know exactly what he is going through. His face displayed his troubling thoughts, his eyes were switching from deep blue to black indicating his battle with his wolf.

"Ryan, have you seen the rogues yet? Or know any more information about this attack yet?" I question him, I cannot let the past interfere with today.

"I couldn't go in Nathan. I've been fighting my wolf since I heard the news. Why would the pack warriors not kill them instantly? All should be dead especially for what they did to us. For what they took from us. We should show no mercy to those monsters. Give them a torturous death, have them begging to be killed" He replied with a sinister tone, its clear his wolf as took over and is wanting to avenge the death of his younger sister from those few years ago.
