Aurora's P.O.V

I knew it was risky to move here so close to another pack, especially this pack. When we ran, I had to think of places where he would never look for me. I mean no one would expect a rogue, or at least a sane rogue, to willingly be so close to the borders of the Nightshade pack. Alpha Nathan is known for being a monster torturing any rogues in his sight, some even say that he and his Beta would go finding them in no man's land. The territory belonged to no one, therefore, rogues are free to roam the areas however that didn't stop them. I was torn if moving so close would be a success or a failure however now I see it is the latter.

Dragging myself out of my thoughts I quickly pick up Danny before heading towards the exit of the shop. I have to get out of here. Please, moon goddess, don't let her tell her Alpha or any of the pack. Just as I reach the café shop door a hand rugs my arm and I look back to find the werewolf.

"Please don't run away, can we just talk? My employee said you wanted to ask something and I'd like to help." She asks cautiously.

Seeing my inner battle of what to do she gently takes hold of my hand leading us towards a booth at the back of the café which was hidden out the way. As we arrive at the booth she slowly let's go of my hand before sliding into one of the seats and gesturing me to do the same. With Danny in my arms, I sit down, looking around in awareness for any threats more important a vicious Alpha.

"Now I am going to assume you didn't ask for the manager to complain about my workers or the food, I am going to assume from the desperate and hopeful look on your face earlier you were going to ask about a job?" Damn, she is good.

"Yes, I was, however, I did not realize I was so close to the pack borders and so I please ask that you let me go, I promise to leave as soon as or at least never to come back to this side of town again?" I try to keep my voice strong but I'm sure she could see right through my disguise and see my fear.

"You know I am very short on employees and well the café is getting busier these days. I'd love to hire you and as for the pack? You are miles away from the borders I just enjoy this town so much I opened the business here. So, you don't need to move." Placing her hand on top of mine reassuringly and smiling at Danny when she sees him playing with placemats whilst we talk. I don't know why but for some reason I believe her. This might be completely foolish of me but what other choice do I have. I barely have money as it is so with these thoughts in my mind, I make up my decision.

"When could I start?" I ask smiling nervously.

After leaving the café with agreeing to start Monday, we went grocery shopping. After speaking to the elderly werewolf, who I found out is called Grace, I found out that I would be getting paid weekly and I would get all my tips on the same day too for all that week. This was perfect for me as it would make sure I always had money for food for Danny. As long as he is healthy that's all that matters.

Clearly, I didn't think this through very well. Now here I am carrying three heavy bags from the grocery store, a bag full of a new uniform for my new job and now giving Daniel a piggyback ride because he was exhausted from all the walking. Panting heavily, I am swaying down the streets slowly due to being weighed down so much.

"Eric, come grab these bags of this poor lady." I hear an old lady exclaim but without paying much attention to who they are speaking with I just carry on until someone grabs the bags from my hold. Shooting up to see the face I am met with an old short lady and who looks to be her husband who took the bags smiling sheepishly at me.

"That's far too much for you to carry and I can't believe you've walked all the way from the shop to here like that, its 30 minutes away. Please let us help." she gently says although it felt like I was being scolded at first. She reminds me of my mum; she was always the worrywart of the family scolding dad and me constantly for messing or doing anything unhealthy for us.

"I'm ok, thank you." I can't let myself get attached, even if they are humans doesn't mean I can trust them.

"Please let us at least drive you home or better yet have a drink and some food to get your stamina back up before you carry on." The man who I assume is Eric pleads.

I can hear Danny begging me to say yes in my ear and with watchful eyes, I agree.
