Bring Me To Life by Evanescence

Cinder Fall:Cinder Fall, a truly beautiful but deadly and calculating young girl. Someone who isn't afraid to boast about her abilities but also someone who isn't stupid and knows when to take action. A member of the White Fang and the disciple/adopted daughter of Salem, RWBY:RDN's ultimate antagonist, Cinder uses her wit, great fighting prowess, and fire semblance to aid those she follows in their endeavors. It wasn't until Ruby came into her life that she really started questioning her life and her purpose. But, she's trapped in the darkness as it was where she was her entire life. It's all she's ever known. It clearly isn't shown much but Cinder does have a lot of doubt about herself as a fighter and also about what she's doing, the latter being shown best due to the fact that she gets no satisfaction out of doing some of the things she feels she has to do in order to please her colleagues and more specifically her master, whom reminds her that some of the things she's had to do was for a necessary reason. But, even she doesn't believe that. In fact, she doesn't know what her purpose is, or at least, is confused by it. How can she know what's truly right and wrong? Where does she belong? Who can bring her to life?

The High Road by Three Days Grace

Neo Politan: "I told you I was hurt, bleeding on the inside. I told you I was lost, in the middle of my life.", Neo Politan's first meeting with Roman Torchwick summed up perfectly with those words. Neo was alone, broken, and without a purpose. She had nothing until Roman came into her life. He gave her a new purpose, which was a dangerous one at best but was much better then the life she had previous. Roman and Neo eventually developed a relationship akin to that of two siblings where the two young criminals were there for each other through thick and thin, this statement being best supported by the lyrics; "There's times I stayed alive for you. There's times I would've died for you. There's times it didn't matter at all." Of course, the young girl made other friends in the White Fang but Roman is her closest friend, the first person whom had her back, her teacher, her dum-dum, her brother. But, she does have her doubts about her life. This is echoed perfectly by these words; "Will you help me find the right way up or let me take the wrong way down? Will you straighten me out or let me take the long way around?", as they communicate best that Roman is, in many ways, responsible for who Neo is now. So, this begs the question; Should he have even taken her in? Is he the best thing for Neo? That's for her to decide. It's up to her to decide who she wants to be. When will she find the strength to be her own person and not just Roman's right hand woman? She doesn't know.

Mercury Black:Gloominess doesn't sound like a good term to describe the person Mercury Black is. After all, he may be a criminal but he's not a vile, cruel one. In fact, most of the villains of RWBY:RDN aren't these villains at all. But, when you take his crappy life before the White Fang into account, you'd be using that term only to describe his previous life a lot and how he really feels. Yes, he has doubted himself many times as he fears failing the people who saved him from that horrible place in his life. In fact, Mercury has made many mistakes that he had difficulty sharing with the others out of fear of their rejection of him. There were many times that Mercury thought about quitting, about giving up. But, he never did. It was just life trying him. Plus, he has many things running through his head while he works with tech, not just with his past and present life running though his head.

True Friends by Bring Me The Horizon

Adam Taurus:The relationship between Adam and Blake is indeed a sad one due to the two once being outcasts whom only had each other but were pulled apart all because of their involvement with the White Fang. Blake had become disillusioned with the White Fang's increased hostility towards society and had actually become disturbed by Adam's increasingly violent behavior, something that even Roman would disagree with. Adam, of course, was heartbroken and shellshocked that Blake would leave the very thing that gave them a new purpose in life. This betrayal also left Adam with a burning desire to exact vengeance on his former friend, partner, and girlfriend for leaving him alone to be nearly be taken in by the authorities during an operation for the White Fang that he was taking too far, going as far as to kill some of their targets which Roman specifically ordered to be spared. This of course describes Adam's membership to the White Fang to a fault as he will disobey orders if he finds it necessary or if he can't control his anger. Karma will have no get by for Blake, as well as for her loved ones, and Adam will make sure Blake pays her debt in blood.

Monster by Imagine Dragons

Salem:A demon, a monster, the very incarnation of darkness. You name it. Salem is many of those things but for a reason. She wasn't born a monster nor did she plan on becoming one. Rather, best explained by these lyrics; "Ever since I could remember everything inside of me just wanted to fit in. I was never one for pretenders. Everything I tried to be just wouldn't settle in.", she was trying to be normal, like everyone else. But, eventually, the toll of the world she lived in and everything she lost because of the world's cruelty broke her, making her into a vengeful, angry being hellbent on killing her former lover Ozpin and destroying everything he stands for. Though, she never asked for this life as it came to her, the darkness making its home in her heart. People have every right to fear her and to run from her. However, she isn't fully consumed by hatred and rage as her heart still has warmth like it once did. Salem does, in many ways, wants to give up this life but she can't. She needs vengeance and this will be the only way she'll get it. If she has to be a monster in order to find peace, then so be it.
