My headcanon for Hornet is that she's a bit of a tsundere, doesn't trust people easily and yeah. She speaks formally with people. (Like in Silksong etc) She's a logical thinker, although emotional at times. Hornet is cold at first meeting but a kind, respectful and good bug once you get to know her.
That's just my take on the character from her dialog and Silksong XD
I ship her with Lace mostly but I also love the idea with her being with Grimm or Quirrel OOF- Here have some of my hornet doodles-
