I'm bored so Imma write some random shitz

Hornet looked around the scenery, plants growing everywhere, beautiful flowers and the light coming from the cracks in the ceiling. But it was ruined by the fact that bugs wandered around, infected and controlled by that damned Radiance.
She sighed, closing her eyes and trying to ignore it, she can't do anything about it and sulking won't solve anything. They're gone, she's alive, she should be thankful for that. It didn't change the fact that she missed the old times when Hallownest stood proud.
Her thoughts were interrupted however, by the sound of something moving in the bushes. Holding her needle tight and being ready to attack, staying quiet to not attract any other creatures in Greenpath.
She waited for whatever it was to come out, her muscles tensing up.

The creature came out.
It was a mossbug.

Hornet sighed in relief, mentally smacking herself for even thinking that it was a threat. But another sound of a bug getting killed came, she looked in the direction of the noise and there it was, a vessel.
She looked at it closely, it noticed her and tried to get closer, of course she immediately ran off. Not wanting to deal with that thing, hoping the bugs in Greenpath would kill it.
Why do these things have to come up from the abyss? She knew that it was her "sibling", but she also knew that it was long dead, the empty dead shell of a child. A ghost of void was hidden inside.
She knew it wasn't truly alive, so there was no reason to be guilty for it's death.
Even so, it felt wrong in a way.
Her Sibling, the Hollow Knight, she cared for it.
It could feel, it could think. Most of them could in a way.
But even so, she couldn't go soft on anyone. Not anymore, not again, they'll die eventually and she'll just have to bury another loved one. It doesn't matter if they're family, if anything stands in the way of her goal to protect the last of Hallownest, then she'll strike it down with her nail. Hornet knew it was cold to think that way, she knew it was immoral. But you have to be cold to survive down here.

All of these thoughts flowing as she ran through Greenpath, she stopped once she noticed a bench, might as well sit down a bit, she hasn't taken a rest for a long time. She's got nothing else to do too.
Hornet sat down, taking out her needle and looking at he reflection on it.
She's a princess of both Deepnest and Hallownest, the daughter of Herrah the beats and the almighty Pale king. Even so, she had no subjects to rule and no kingdom left.
She's not sad that she's lost that privilege, in all honesty she prefers to live peacefully. But she's sad that everyone is gone, only Dirtmouth is left and the mantis tribe.
It's funny how one simple mistake destroyed this entire kingdom, and that she played part in the creation of what could have saved it. Hornet knew she couldn't have done anything, she was a child and her mother agreed to a deal. It's the pale King's fault, he tried to save the kingdom by sacrificing her siblings, but Hornet knew it was necessary. If anything, the big mistake that her father did was seal away the Radience completely, if anything the moth race are to blame for forgetting their creator. Mistakes were made, and there is no such thing as black or white.

Hornet groaned, standing up, her thoughts got the better of her again. She began walking away from the bench, heading deeper into Greenpath. If that Ghost continued to follow her, she will cut it down, she knew what it wanted and she won't let the cycle repeat itself.
That's the least she can do, protect what remains. Even if she has to kill every single vessel out there, she'll do it. 'No cost too great' after all.
