Calum

I stood in the school yard with the rest of the parents, waiting for the kids to be let out. The doors opened and children flooded out, making me smile as Olivia ran towards me.

"Mummy!" she screamed as she ran to me and hugged my legs, making me laugh.

"Hey, baby girl, you got everything?" I asked.

"Yeah." she nodded. I looked at her and sighed.

"You sure, babe?" I asked.

"Yes." She huffed.

"Liv, I'm telling you that you don't have everything. Where's your book bag?" I asked. She looked around.

"Come on." I sighed as I took her hand and led her back into the school. I walked her to her classroom and looked in. My eyes widened slightly as a stunning man stood in the classroom, clearing up the tables and putting stuff away.

"Mr Hood!" Olivia laughed. The man looked at us and his eyes widened slightly as he saw me.

"Olivia, hey, did you forget something?" he chuckled, smiling at her.

"My book bag." She sighed.

"Okay, well, go get it, then." He smiled, making her return it as she ran off. The man looked at me.

"You're not Mrs Aitkins." I chuckled.

"No, erm, she's on maternity leave, so I was given Olivia's class for the rest of the year." He nodded.

"Oh, nice. I'm her mum, Y/N." I spoke, reaching out my hand.

"Mr Hood, but you can call me Calum." He smiled as he shook my hand.

"Will I, erm, will I see you and Olivia's dad at parents' evening tomorrow?" he asked.

"You'll see me, Olivia's dad hasn't been on the scene for a couple years now." I admitted. He nodded and looked down.

"Oh, that's a shame. But, in that case, would you maybe want to grab a coffee afterwards? I'd love to get to know you better." He smiled. I returned it and bit my lip.

"Okay, Calum. You can take my daughter and I out for coffee." I nodded, making him laugh and return the nod.

"Great, see you then." He smiled as Olivia ran back to me.

"All done?" I asked.

"Yeah." She nodded. I returned it before looking back at Calum.

"See you later." I smiled.

"And you. See you tomorrow, Olivia." He smiled.

"Bye, Mr Hood." She giggled, making me chuckle and give him one last smile before leaving the classroom.

Luke

"We're going on an adventure, aren't we?" I smiled at Kiera, making her squeal as I put her into the trolley's seat before starting to push the trolley through the shop. I wandered through, picking up random bits and chucking them into the trolley as Kiera chewed on her stuffed monkey toy. I stopped in an aisle and threw a couple more things in before continuing to walk. Suddenly, Kiera started to cry.

"Aww, Kiera, shush, what's wrong?" I cooed, gently rubbing her cheek. My eyes widened as she wailed more and I looked in her empty hands.

"Where's monkey?" I mumbled, looking around.

"Oh, god, Kiera." I groaned, holding a hand to my head as I knew she wouldn't stop crying until I found her toy.

"Kiera, please, mummy doesn't need this." I sighed as I picked her up.
