SLAM! A guy put a book on his table just beside him and sat with that.

Hrikesh turned and saw it was Jim. One of the friends whom he gracefully lost with their fight. Jim turned to him smiling, "Hrittick?" he asked.

"Hrikesh" Hrikesh replied managing a smile somehow.

"Oh, yeah. That" and he nodding his head said, "How are you man?"

"Okay. What about you?" Hrikesh asked.

He shrugged his shoulders. "Times are hard" he said.
But Hrikesh didnt believe him. He was still friends with one side of theirs so there was no reason he would feel the loneliness like he Hrikesh did. No way.

"Why?" Hrikesh asked.

"You know, shit is happening between us" he said as a matter of fact.

"But you're still friends with them" Hrikesh said.
Hearing this he looked around trying to see if nobody was there. There really weren't much people and whoever was there was sunken in their books or notes.

He than inched closer to Hrikesh and whispered, "Outside its just show. We try to show that we are still friends but it really isn't. We have problems. Some of us support the other group, most of us made different friends altogether. So no loyalty there, you see. Nothing. Nothing"

Jim said that and even tho Hrikesh acted as if he was sad hearing this, he felt a rush of excitement. It somehow made him feel like he was not alone.

After that he nodded and Jim focused on his book. They didnt talk for the last 15 minutes, after which the bell rang and the class ended. Jim said bye and went.

Hrikesh too made out for home, keeping the book he took in its respective place and the librarian nodded as if appreciating his behaviour. He smiled and made out.

He reached home and felt kind of refreshed. He dont usually feel refreshed after getting home back from college.

One of the reasons he thought was because of the nap he got in college or the momentary glimpse of her he saw. His parents weren't still home from office and wont be until a few hours.

At most days, he would've been really really excited at this but not today. Today he was feeling really weird.

And one totally crazy thing happened in this home, in this very room Hrikesh was at right now she was also there. When she stayed there was another bed beside his.

There wasnt the big cupboard that was now occupying its place. In her bed, he and Eli played those card games for hours and hours.

In her presence, he Hrikesh never really felt alone. He always was excited from e very moment he woke up from bed. But it is also the room, where he hit her on her stomach.

The deadly blow that ultimately killed her. Hrikesh felt his stomach sink further with these thoughts. Guilt and shame began filling him like alcohol.

He felt his eyes watery remembering her dead body on the hospital bed.

It was soul-drenching.
