Dipper walked reluctantly to the center of the woods, shaking. He had no idea what was coming next. He had no idea if Bill would show up. He had no idea if what he thought had happened was even real as he slowly treaded to the small patch of treeless land where Bill's triangle figure once sat, embedded in stone. But there was no stone statue, and Dipper knew it was all real. His palms dripped with sweat and he nervously wiped them on his pants, still shaking. He didnt know how to feel.
Suddenly, warm arms wrapped around Dipper from behind, and he almost yelped in surprise.
"Why are you so nervous?" Bill asked softly, speaking into Dipper's ear. When Dipper stayed silent, Bill started nibbling on Dipper's ear, breathing heavily into the lobe and making the brunette shudder with pleasure and confusion.
Dipper gasped when Bill moved his hand lower, cupping the boy's crotch.
"N-no! I-Im not ready! I dont even know how I f-feel about you!" Dipper suttered, forcing himself out of Bill's grasp. He pushed away when Bill grabbed for him again, tripping and falling backwards onto the ground. You could see the terror in his eyes as he began to scoot away, still on the ground.
"Dont be frightened, dear Dipper!" Bill cooed, getting down on his knees and trying to make the boy stop being so afraid. "I promise I wont hurt you anymore."
When Dipper continued to back away, Bill stopped forcing it. He apologized quietly, getting up and disappearing, again leaving dipper alone. The boy sat there for what felt like an eternity, tears staining his eyes. He wasnt crying for no reason-he was scared. Of a lot if things. He was scared of how he might feel for his potential enemy, and how his family would react, and how he would react. He didnt even know he was interested in guys. He always had crushes on girls, but yet, here he was, with a boy, and Bill of all people.
Eventually, Dipper got enough courage to get up and return to the Mystery Shack, tears still burning his eyes. He sniffled and wiped his nose as he hobbled out of the woods, trying to avoid running into anyone as he went up to the attic. Suddenly, he got a bright idea. The best way to avoid people was to go onto a small ledge on the Mystery Shack roof, and that's what he did. He climbed through a window and amanaged to get onto the roof, where an old, ruined lounge chair still sat on the ledge. He remembered it as the one Wendy would sit on during her breaks when she still worked at the Mystery Shack, but the chair looked to be unused for ages, and it was beginning to rip in some places, but he didnt care as he climbed onto it, cringing at the sound of some of the fabric ripping more. He sat on the lounge chair, tears streaking his eyes once more. He wasnt sure if he would ever stop crying, but he definitely did once Bill reappeared, joining him on the ledge.
"Please dont cry." Bill whispered, sitting beside the lounge chair, stroking Dipper's arm.
Dipper looked up in surprise, his tears coming to a stop.
"Why? Why did you do it?" Dipper asked in a whisper.
"I kissed you because I genuinely think I like you, ok?" Bill whispered back. "I know I made it sound otherwise...but...I really think I like you. I saw something in you all those years ago, but you and I were still young, and I wasnt ready. But I see a special uniqueness in you even more. And we're older."
"What do you mean 'you and I were still young'...?"
"I'm 19."
At that, Dipper sat straight up, looking into Bill's eyes. You're only a little bit older than me...?"
Bill wrapped his arms around Dipper affectionately, hugging him and saying, "Yes. And I care for you."
This time when Bill hugged Dipper, the brunette hugged back, and they stilled, enjoying the feel of the other's embrace. Suddenly, they heard the Mystery Shack door open, and out came Mable and Wendy.
"Where is he?!" Mable cried.
"I'm sure he's back by now." Wendy reassured.
Bill whispered "goodbye" and disappeared.
"I'm right here, guys!" Dipper called, taking several deep breaths.
The two girls looked up at the roof and saw Dipper, who was now jumping down to the ground. He landed smoothly, surprising for how high up he jumped from, and then he walked up to the girls.
"I just wanted to relax. Sorry for worrying you, Mable. You really need to stop stressing."
"Why are your eyes red and puffy? Are you okay?" Wendy asked.
"I'm fine, I just had an allergy attack. I must be allergic to the pollen of some sort of flower or something."
The girls accepted Dipper's statement reluctantly, eventually deciding that it was logical enough, though they didnt realise that it was a lie. The three of them entered the Mystery Shack and Dipper sighed gratefully, glad that nobody had seen him with Bill.
That night, Dipper struggled to sleep. He couldnt stop thinking about Bill. He couldnt stop thinking about their kiss. Their hug. Then there was a tap on the window. He turned towards the glass and noticed a floating blond boy was smiling, asking for entrance into the room. Dipper got up quietly, avoiding the places where the floor creaked as not to wake up the peaceful Mable. He opened the window and Bill flew in, sitting on Dipper's bed.
"Why are you here?" Dipper asked quietly. He sat next to Bill, nervously fidgeting with his hands.
"I wanted to spend time with you. Why dont we go outside so we can talk normally?"
Dipper nodded, and Bill grabbed his wrist, flying them out the window. He landed the two on the ground outside, and when Dipper shivered, he summoned a warm jacket and wrapped it around the boy, and the two flushed red.
"S-sorry. You looked cold." Bill stammered. He summoned himself a black formal jacket and put it on. "Are you ok out here? We can go back inside. Or I can leave..."
"No, it's ok, Bill. I actually wanted to talk to you." Dipper responded with a sense of nervousness in his voice. "A-about...us..."Bill's face washed over with surprise, saying "S-sure. Uhm..."
There was an awkward silence for a moment, and Dipper fidgeted nervously. Bill counted his breaths. The silence continued, the only noises that could be heard were ones coming from the creatures in the woods. Dipper cleared his throat and looked up at Bill, breathing deeply.
"I...I'm not sure how to feel about all this. And I'm so sorry for reacting the way I did." Dipper started quietly. "I've never felt this way towards a boy before...only girls...and it was really alarming to me." Dipper huffed loudly, kicking some dirt below his feet. "It was especially weird because we had that big fight those few years back. I always considered you my enemy...but In willing to try and start over."
"Wait.. really?" Bill asked in disbelief.
"Absolutely. But I want to start out kind of slow. I'm willing to try something romantic with you now...but maybe only kissing?..."
"Yes, of course. I wont push."
"Thank you, Bill. And I want to keep this a secret for now. I'm afraid of how the others will react to...us..."
The way Dipper said 'us' made a lump form in Bill's throat. He wasnt sure why he reacted like that, but he did. He forced a nod in support of what Dipper was saying, and the brunette thanked him. Bill just wanted to scream that Dipper was his, but he told hi.self that he would do what Dipper wished. And before Bill could think, he stepped forward and tilted Dipper's head up slightly, pressing their lips together. The kiss was passionate, not sexual. There was no tongue, there was no groping, no nothing. Just two boys kissing for the second time, trying their best not to be awkward about it. When Dipper was able to focus again, even though he and Bill were still kissing, he realised his arms were now wrapped around Bill's neck, pulling them closer, though he had no recollection of moving his arms at all. He wasnt sure why, but he wanted more. Like this kiss needed to go on forever just for him to be happy. But the two pulled away, needing air. They gasped for air, and smiled at each other weakly, noticing a string of saliva connecting their mouths. Dipper wiped it away, but then leaned in to kiss Bill again. They continued to enjoy themselves, just kissing passionately with no tongue involved. Bill didnt push it, and respected that Dipper probably wasnt ready for tongue, just being happy that he could kiss the brunette at all. They were so caught up in the moment that they didnt hear the Mystery Shack's door open.
"Dipper...?"
