Bill dragged Dipper all the way to the center of the woods, where he summoned a bench and had it placed in the middle of the treeless patch of land that his figure once sat, trapped in stone. He sat down on the newly placed bench and looked down at his hands.
"Dipper, I know this is incredibly soon, but, when I come home with you at the end of the summer, I want to enroll in your school and attend the year with you."
"Seriously? Have you ever even been to school?"
"No, but I can manage. I just want to be there with you."
Dipper smiled, sitting next to Bill on the bench. He grabbed the blonde's hands, squeezing them tightly and making the blond look up at him.
"That really does mean a lot to me."
Both boys flushed anxiously, pulling away and looking in opposite directions.
"You know, it's still hard to believe that we are...you know...together. For a while, and I hate to admit this, but for a while I genuinely hated you. I regret it a lot now, but it was so easy to blame you back then."
"Blame me? For what?"
"For all of my problems. I think I had a crush on you back then."
"You did?"
"Yeah. And I was in serious denial, now that I think about it. It made me hate you. It made me want to defeat you even more, and I dont know why."
"Wow....that's....wow....But...you dont hate me now?"
"No, of course not. I dont know how it would even be possible."
"Oh. I'm glad."
The two boys looked at each other again, sharing a passionate kiss before they hugged tightly and Bill disappeared. Dipper couldnt help but smile all the way back to the Mystery Shack.
"So. Bill's going to be a part of this family now. If Dipper is willing to introduce him, then I know that's how it's going to be." Grunkle Stanford said.
Dipper knew he wasnt supposed to hear that. He knew he should walk away, not eavesdrop. But he couldnt help but listen. He hid behind the doorway, listening to his friends and family debate.
"Dont you feel like Bill is up to something? And how is he even a human?" Asked Mable.
"I'm sure he is. Why else would he want to correlate himself with our family? We were enemies just a few years back. We turned him to stone. Of course hes up to something." Grunkle Stan growled. "And he isnt a human. He's a demon. A monster. I have no clue what was running through Dipper's mind when he decided it would be a good idea to invite Bill into our family. Hes not welcome, that stupid yellow triangle guy."
"Oh come on, he seemed genuinely sorry! Dont you think Dipper wouldnt introduce us to the new Bill if they werent close? If Dipper trusts this guy...I'm willing to aswell."
"Absolutely not, Wendy! You're pregnant! I may not have been there during your fight with him, but I know how dangerous Bill is. You shouldnt risk your life and the baby's just because 'Dipper trusts this guy'." Robbie was furious.
"Honestly? I'm not sure what to believe. I mean, Wendy had a point. Dipper must be close with Bill, and hes not stupid. Bill cant fool him. But at the same time..." Mable paused, taking a loud, deep breath. "I don't think we should trust Bill just yet. Maybe we should wait a little."
"I dont Bill is worth trusting. Ever." Robbie mumbled.
Dipper wiped his eyes as tears stained them. He crept away, trying not to let his friends know that he was listening.
They're really going to hate me. Oh god. I cant ever tell them I'm with Bill! What will they think...? Theyll be so disappointed. Theyll stop talking to me. I wont get to come back to Gravity Falls.... Dipper thought.
Dipper climbed into his bed, curling up into a ball and forcing himself to sleep. He didnt want to face the struggles of his life.
Because a dreamless dream is always better than reality.
