Dipper was a young man now, and it was difficult for even him to believe. It had been so long since his first year spending the summer with his Grunkle Stan in Gravity Falls, but as soon as that first summer was over, he knew he and his sister Mable would have to come back. Every summer after that had been a blast. Him and "the gang" fighting supernatural forces in Gravity Falls. But things had become somewhat bland after losing track of their greatest enemy, Bill, one of the most powerful forces to ever live in Gravity Falls. But that's why this summer was such a change.
"Grunkle Stan! Grunkle Stanford!" Dipper smiled, smiled, walking towards his twinkles eagerly. He hadnt seen them for a whole year and was so happy to see them again. He hugged them happily, Mable doing the same.
"Its so good to see you both! And boy, have you grown!" Grunkle Stan chuckled.
It was true, the twins had grown quite a bit. Dipper was now half a foot taller and was beginning to become a lot more muscular. After he hit puberty a couple years back, his voice lowered handsomely, making his voice an octave or two deeper, and he looked like a fine young man. He even managed to out-grow Mable, who stopped at 5'6. He was a lucky 6 feet.
"Yeah, I couldnt agree more!" Said a happy young woman with bright red hair.
"Hey, Wendie!" Dipper said. He was extremely grateful that he no longer had a crush on her because she was now pregnant and reaching an end to her second trimester. The father was Robbie, and he had surprisingly become a really amazing person, and everyone knew he would raise the child well.
Dipper and Mable both got their rounds of hugs before finally managing to get to the Mystery Shack to unload their belongings. Soos had become the owner of the place a few years prior when Grunkle Stan and Stanford decided to leave Gravity Falls for a voyage to find more supernatural beings, having only come home mid last summer, where their welcome home was huge.
When the two finished unpacking, Mable whipped out a notebook and began to draw, having recently developed a thing for professional drawing.
"I'm going for a walk." Dipper said cautiously, wandering out of the attic of the Mystery Shack and finally getting outside.
He smiled. He was hoping to see some sort of creature in the woods surrounding the Mystery Shack. Dipper walked calmly into the woods, soaking up the familiar scent of pine trees and grass. He kept walking, and soon enough, he reached the center of the forest, where a triangle statue sat, its bottom corners sunk into the dirt.
"So, they finally caught you, huh? I always wondered where you disappeared to for all those years." Dipper sat next to the statue, running the tips of his fingers along the thing, admiring the curves and dents of the triangle with a top hat. "Its amazing being so close to you. I never got to see all the details of your surface; you were never close enough." The brunette chuckled to himself, scratching his head awkwardly. "And here I am, talking to a statue! There are probably things watching me right now, holding back their laughter. God, I'm such a dunce."
Dipper sighed, getting up and starting to walk away. He turned around and snuck a quick glance at the statue before continuing his tread back to the Mystery Shack. He missed the old days where he got to fight the yellow triangle. It may have been terrifying, but it always gave him a reason to come back to the supernatural woods surrounding the place he stayed each summer. Though it had been far too long since his last fight with the thing. Too bad.
The next day, Dipper went back to the forest. He couldnt stop thinking about the triangle statue at the center of the woods, and wanted to go look at it again. As he reached the spot where the statue sat, he did the same thing he did one day prior, and sat down next to the thing.
"I still wish I could talk to you." Sighed Dipper.
He closed his eyes, leaning his head on the uncomfortable triangle and relaxing his tense body. He sat there for roughly two hours, just thinking about Bill and about the woods and about his past few years in Gravity Falls. And after a while, Mable, Wendy, Robbie, Grunkle Stan, Grunkle Stanford, and Soos all went looking for the boy, only to find him sleeping peacefully, his head still resting on the triangle statue.
Mable walked up to him, shaking him gently and telling him to wake up. He slowly blinked his eyes open, and found his family and friends all surrounding him and the statue. He rubbed his eyes tiredly, Mable pulling him up.
"Sorry." He said quietly, turning and walking back towards the Mystery Shack.
The group of people left standing where Dipper was resting was in shock. Not because Dipper was sleeping next to the triangle who turned to stone, but because the triangle looked a little less like stone. The triangle with a top hat had the slightest bit of color, yellow tinting the grey marble it sat made out of. The thing was becoming less like stone. But how?
