I think Akane is a pretty funny character and I hate how underrated she is.
Her carefree and fiery attitude is fun to see, especially when she tries to fight almost everyone, her relationship with Nekomaru is really well done and they really care about each other, you can tell how distraught Akane was over Nekomaru's death in the Funhouse.
Even though Akane is serious during the trials, her out of place statements are hilarious. It was also pretty funny seeing Akane forget Hajime's name so much.
Sure, she's not the brightest out of the cast, but at least she's a got decent reason as to why. As her family was poor and couldn't afford for Akane to go to school. But thankfully due to how athletic she is, she got paid and was able to help her family out, though I do feel bad that she was so clueless to all the times she got sexually harassed, but she had to trust those kind of people to get the money she needed.
I love that after she spent time with Hajime and Nekomaru, her thoughts about being weak changed from hating the thought of weakness and not relying on others to understanding that she can be strong when together with others.
Her design is rather simple, with the button up shirt, showing off a large amount of her cleavage and red skirt, and her hair really reflects just how wild she is.
Overall, I believe that Akane is much more than a dumb big-boobed girl. She's caring and strong.
