We must have spent hours at the damn mall. Every time I thought we were done, we went to more stores. In the end it really doesn't bother me well because I like going clothes shopping, and Isabella wanted to make sure she paid me back every cent I loaned her four weeks ago. By the time I got home it was six at night.

"Thank you again for taking me shopping." I said to her.

"No problem, I said I would pay you back and I did." She smiled at me.

I blew her a kiss and she blew me one back. I waved at her and walked towards my house. I heard her car drive off, and I was through my white door. I took my shoes off at the door then went to go to the steps.

"Honey in the kitchen." I heard my mom yell in a happy voice.

"Okay coming mom." I yelled back starting to walk to the kitchen. I reached the kitchen and stood there.

"Sit down honey it's time for dinner." My mom smiled at me, with my brother and father sitting at the table.

"Dinner is a little later than usual tonight." I glared over at the stove that had nothing on it.

"I know, I had a late start on things today." She stated the obvious.

I walked further into the kitchen finding myself sitting at the table. My mom in the meantime was pulling a pan out of the oven.

"What's for dinner?" I asked her.

"Meatloaf with pea." My mom said to me while cutting the food.

After dinner I went upstairs with my bag and threw it on my bed. I really didn't wanna do my first day homework, but I have to. I just have to be perfect for my parents. That's the one thing about them that was always irritating. You have to join this club, and be in this sport, and do your homework every night before bed. It got annoying.

I sat down at my computer desk with my trig homework and started solving the equations in front of me. After my homework I closed my book, and flopped down on my bed, it felt so nice to lay down. My bed felt like it had rose petals in it. I laid there and closed my eyes.

"You are the most beautiful, and astonishing person I have ever met." I said smiling like a goof.

"From that moment when we knocked each other over in the hallway I felt a strong connection to you, and I just couldn't keep my mind off of you." Brett responded to me.

"There really is no other person in the world I would want to be with. You make me happy, and that's all I could ever ask for." I responded.

I immediately sat up in my bed taking in deep breaths, wondering what was going on with me. I never thought about a girl like that, let alone a guy to the extent.

The next day in English we were all sitting in our assigned seats and talking to our friends before the bell rang and Mr. DeKeller came in and silenced us.

"Today class you and your partner will receive your first novel. I have assigned a specific novel to each group. That means you can't cheat off another group, and both of you have to have the group effort. "He stated to us.

With that being said, he pulled a box out from behind his desk and opened it. One by one he picked a book up, studied the cover and assigned it to a group. Then Mr. DeKeller hands Brett and I a book with a blue cover, and three little hearts on it that look like Valentine Day candy. On those little hearts are the words 'Boy Meets Boy'.

He walks away from us and stand at the front of the class. "Today your assignment is to read the synopsis of the book, and then discuss it with your partner."

"I think he gave us a gay love story."

"Whatever he wants me to read I'll read." He stated.

I looked over at Brett and my heart sank. He was smiling at with the cute dimples, and his bright green eyes were smiling at me too.

"You okay man?" He asked me.

I snapped back to reality. "Yeah, yeah I'm fine."

After that we discussed the book, and I went through my next couple of classes until lunch. All of my friends and I sat down with our food and started eating and discussing a party. I was distracted looking over at Brett. Ian looked over at me and saw me spacing.

"Hey bro what's wrong?" He asked me.

I shook my head and looked at him. "I feel bad for him. He has nobody sitting with him, and he's all alone."

Ian looked over at Brett. He looked back at me, then he got up and walked over to Brett. He was over there for a minute then both Brett and hime came back. Brett sat down at the open chair and Ian sat back down in his chair.

My friend Joey kept going on about his party he is throwing this weekend. Joey was the only one of my friends who was bisexual, and nobody had a problem with that because he mostly dated girls instead of guys. Joey wasn't a bad looking guy. He was kinda muscular, shaggy brown hair, and blue eyes.

"There's going to be all of the senior class, most of the junior, and some freshman there. We have all kinds alcohol too, so there will be plenty." Joey kept going on.

"What's this party?" Brett asked.

"I throw a party every year on the first weekend of the school year. Do you want to come?" Joey responded.

Brett smiles and looked at me. "Are you going?" He asked me.

I was so curious to why he wanted to know if I was going and not the others, but it's more an likely because he's talked to me. "Uh, yeah." I answered.

"Yeah I'll go." He answered Joey.

I wanted to burst out in a big smile, but I couldn't because I would look really weird if I did that.

"I don't know where you live tho." Brett said.

Joey went to say something. "I'll take you." I blurted out, before I could stop myself. What was I thinking? I'm not gay, I can't be gay, yet here I am crushing on a boy.

"Okay, I'll give you my address tomorrow in English." He responded with that cute smile of his.

The next day in English Brett and I were working on a worksheet together for our book when he looked up at me.

"Do you have a phone?" He asked me.

I nodded my head.

"Can I see it?"

"Right now?" I asked.

"Yeah."

"But what if you get caught with it?"

"Oh I won't, he's not even paying attention." He giggled.

The giggle was so cute, too cute to where it gave me a tight knot in my stomach and I felt like there were a thousand huge butterflies in my stomach.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and handed it to him. He grabbed it and started punching some stuff in, then handed it back quickly. I looked down and he put his number in there.

"Text me, so I can text you my address." He said followed by a wink.

I know it's kind of slow right now, but I do promise it will pick up shortly. I'm trying to build some character dialgue here and show some emotion, and the turning point for Landen. Over there is Joey. I had to post Joey this chapter because they were talking about it his party.
