𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟑
Enzo woke up in the back of a truck that was designed like a cell. Elizabeth was still unconscious next to him. He heard footsteps coming around it until Matt Donovan opened the back doors.
Enzo immediately tried breaking through the metal bars, making the young deputy laugh, "Save your strength. You're full of vervain and you couldn't break out of here on your best day."
"What the hell did you do?" Enzo rasped.
"I took your advice. You see, you're right. I can't protect Mystic Falls on my own so I made some friends who could help."
"And who are these friends?"
"Sorry, I can't tell you. See, they'd like to introduce themselves. I guess I was wrong, someone wanted you, after all." he closed the door again, making Enzo bang against the bars in anger.

Enzo had been knocked out again and the next time he woke up, he was strapped to a hospital gurney. He looked to his left where he saw that Elizabeth was hooked to an iv filled witch what he presumed to be wolfsbane.
The vampire's head snapped forward again as he heard the door to the room open and saw a woman enter.
"Good Morning," the woman said.
"Who the hell are you? What are you doing to her?"
"I'm someone who needs your help and she is one of the last of her kind. In return for you helping us, we will give you some information you will be interested in and let your soulmate go."
Enzo chuckled, "If it's all the same, I'd rather just be cut loose so the two of us can be on our way."
The woman shrugged, "Be my guest," she cut through Enzo's ropes, "Just figured you'd want to know who your family was. Orphan and all."
"How do you know about my family?"
"Because as obnoxious as it sounds, we like to think we know everything."

"So when will you finally release Elizabeth?" Enzo asked.
The woman, Alex, clicked her tongue, "See, as long as we can't be a hundred per cent sure that you can be trusted, we can't let her go. She's too dangerous."
Enzo glared at her, "She won't harm anyone of you, I promise."
"She already bit off the fingers of more than one of my colleagues," she deadpanned.
"Well, that's their fault for trying to pet a werewolf."
Alex gave him a look before motioning for him to follow, "While we can't let your soulmate go just yet, there is something else I can show you."
They walked down a hallway until stopping in front of one of the many doors. Alex unlocked the door and as the light on the door turned green, she opened it to reveal a casket.
Enzo looked at it questionably and opened it to see a female desiccated vampire with long brown curls in it. The vampire was wearing old-fashioned clothing and even though Enzo couldn't put his finger on it, he felt a certain sense of familiarity as he stared down into the coffin.
