With a big goofy grin and a skip in his step, Jai strolled over to his locker Friday morning, unable to keep thoughts of Ariana and their amazing son from his mind. After the amazing day they had yesterday, he was positive he wanted her back. But it wasn't going to be that easy. He had to win her back in more ways then one. Not only did he have to have to win her over, but also her mother and brother. Who he knew wasn't too happy with him. But her mom on the other hand.. He was thinking she was willing to give him another shot.
He hummed to himself as he popped open his locker and got his things for home room when he heard a female voice behind him.
"Where were you yesterday?"
Jai jumped in fright then turned around with a wide eyed expression, putting his hand on his heart. Why did everyone have to sneak up on him like that? "Ivy, hey." his smile was back as he shut his locker.
His girlfriend stared at him suspiciously. Today, she was sporting a pair of white lace shorts, a maroon shirt with white designs on it and Jai's maroon and off white varsity jacket that had navy detailing, which were the schools colors. On her feet she wore off white combat boots that were folded down, showing off the flowery details.
Jai observed her outfit with a slight frown. "Wh.. what are you wearing?" He asked in confusion, looking her up and down. Didn't she know it was the middle of October? Yesterday was a little warm but it was freezing today. He guessed it was at least in the forties outside. He subtly glanced over her head to see what Ariana was wearing. Her locker was only a few down from his and he always got a good view of her.
Ariana had decided to dress for the weather and had pulled on a pair of black leggings with a big sweatshirt that had white stripes on each shoulder. Her hair was half up and half down but with a tiny bun instead of a ponytail and she wore little to no make up, unlike Ivy who went all out. She was wearing heels, but they were boots and kept her warm.
He smiled secretly to himself, approving of her outfit. At least she was dressed normally. He found himself comparing the two girls a lot lately.. And of course the mother of his child won every time.
"What?" Ivy frowned, looking down at herself. "I'm wearing your jacket."
Jai looked away from Ariana and back at his girlfriend, frowning softly. "Yeah.. But it's like forty degrees outside. It's freezing. You're in shorts."
Ivy rolled her eyes and crossed her arms as she looked at him. "Whatever. So where were you?"
He shrugged, rifling through his books to make sure he had everything. "I was studying."
"Uhm, no you weren't. I called your house and your mom said you weren't home."
"I didn't say I was studying a-- w-why'd you call my house?"
"Because you weren't answering your phone. It kept going to voicemail. And since when do you study?"
"Since I failed History class."
"Really? Or since Mr. Stevens assigned her as your tutor?"
"Why are you so hung up on this?"
"Because you spent the entire day with her and her kid at the park yesterday!"
"Wha-- how'd you even know about that?"
"Luke told me when I called asking where you were."
"Wait. You called my brother?"
