David and Aurelia walked back up the old wooden stairs that would take them up the cliffs to the cave. Their walk was silent but full of emotion. Embarrassment...

"Thank you, David."

"Damn it, woman. I told you to stop that." David sighed in minor irritation but honestly he was enjoying having a conversation with his mate. He was hoping it would take her mind off things just a bit. Suddenly he heard her help out in pain and without thinking he spun around.

Aurelia had been drying her legs when she moved her foot and accidentally stepped on a broken sea shell. The sharpness of it breaking through the skin and causing her to bleed. She let out a loud help and grabbed her foot to inspect the damage. As she stood similarly to a flamingo the towel lay on the sand forgotten...

"Son of a bitch." David voice brought her attention back up towards him and she squealed.

Wide blue eyes, tiny little smirk and a raised eyebrow decorated his face. A gloved hand reached up to hold the back of his own neck. The vampire was in a daze seeing his mate so bare before him. Yet then his eyes found the markings and injuries, a snarl threatening to spill from his lips.

"David! Turn around!" Her voice had raised itself multiple octaves and her arms covered as much herself as she could while trying to keep her cut foot out of the sand.

His name coming out from her lips brought his attention back to her and he spun so fast on his heel that sand whipped out from under him.

That had been only ten or so minutes before hand. After the shock of it wore off for both them Aurelia quickly changed into the clothes Paul had given David and David wrapped her foot in a torn piece of a rag from pocket. She had insisted on walking back up since he had carried her down. Though the argument they had over that subject and lasted a few minutes before a damn pouty lip won him over. But... He wouldn't admit it to anyone else.

"So your name is David..." Aurelia nibbed her lip as she cursed herself for saying the words.

"And yours is Aurelia. What about it, Angel?" David had a smug look on his face that made her scowl.

"What's the rest of your name?" She looked at the side of his face admiring his stumble lined jaw. She wasn't much a mullet fan, but his fit his face quite perfectly. He was actually quite the handsome devil, wasn't he?

"Don't know. Can't remember it." David thought back to the past trying to recollect a lost human memory. He had forgotten it over the past few hundred years.

"Been that long too huh?" Aurelia sighed looking up at the starry sky above her.

'If only you knew, Angel.' he smirked at the thought but then narrowed his eyes at the statement. What did she mean 'too'?

As he was about to ask her she stumbled forward and his arm shot out to catch her.

"You gotta look where you're walking, Angel." He chuckled and shook his head.
