Jack stared at the phone intensely as he sat on his bed and he waited for Pitch's call. He's been waiting ever since Eliza gave it to him, which was five days ago.
"Please call. Please call. Please call. Please call. Please call, Oh please call." Jack begged, hoping for the phone to ring as he sighed in disappointment before the phone finally rung and he immediately picked it up. "Hello, Pitch..."
"I'm am going this once and once only so listen and don't interrupt me." Pitch interrupted Jack and Jack shut up. "You have exactly five and I mean five minutes to explain yourself for why you cheated me, don't make me regret giving you this chance Frost. Your time starts now, don't waste it." Pitch stated and he raised his eyebrow in annoyance when Jack didn't talk. "You have four minutes and forty eight seconds."
"Itallstartedwhenwewereonadate!Ididn'trealizedBunnyfollowedme!Hesawusthreatenedtotelltheguardians,Iknewyouweren'treadysowemadeadealand....!" Jack said, way too fast.
"Okay stop, I didn't understand one word of that. Try again." Pitch said and Jack took a deep breath.
"Bunny saw us one night when we had a date, he threatened to tell guardians about us. But then he said he wouldn't if I faked a relationship with him. I knew you weren't ready to tell the guardians and I a thought if I told you this, it would pressure you so I agreed. I shouldn't have done that, I'm sorry." Jack explained and apologized. Then out of the shadows came out a giant hand made of nightmare sand, it made a fist and punched Jack out of bed. Jack groaned in pain as his back hit the wall and he nodded, crawling slowly back on the bed. "I deserved that."
"You sure as hell did. Honestly, what were you thinking?! You should've told me!" Pitch yelled and Jack nodded
"I know, I'm sorry. I didn't know how you would take it." Pitch frowned.
"You thought it would be a better idea to cheat on me and break my heart?" Pitch asked, low and dangerously, and Jack gulped, he's scared which Pitch can sense because the hand's still in the room. "Oh now you're scared of me? You weren't scared of me when you were with Bunnymund!" Jack sighed.
"Pitch, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, I should have told you. I thought you would've freaked out." Pitch shrugged angrily.
"Freaked out how? Like I would have killed and skinned him alive?!" Jack nodded vigorously.
"Yeah, exactly that." Jack said, as if staying the obvious, Pitch pouted and the hand flicked Jack's finger.
"I would have not. I mean, I would have thought about it, but I wouldn't do it." Jack raised an eyebrow.
"Kozmotis..."Pitch groaned in defeat.
"Fine! I would have killed him! Happy?! You're my boyfriend, I shouldn't have to share you." Pitch admitted and Jack snickered a bit. "Speaking of being my boyfriend, you're not off the hook. You still should have told me, even if you thought that."
"You're right, again I'm sorry." They fell in silence and Pitch sighed.
"I want to know something?" Pitch asked.
"What is it?" Jack said and Pitch took a deep breath.
"Did you have any feelings for Bunnymund at all during your 'relationship' with him? Do you have any feelings for him?"
"No! No, not at all. Kozmotis Pitchner Black, I swear on my life and Man in Moon I have never had feelings for Bunny. I promise you." Pitch sighed silently in relief, but his feelings are still hurt. "Do you believe me?"
"I believe you, Jackson. But that change the fact that you lied to me." Jack frowned, but nodded.
"Please, forgive me. I don't know if I can be apart from you any longer. I miss you. I miss you and the baby. Speaking of which, are you both ok?" Jack asked and Pitch sniffed as he felt tears form in his eyes.
"We're fine and we miss you too." Pitch admitted as he rubbed his small bump softly and smiled sadly yet lovingly at it, Jack smiled.
"I wish I was there with the both of you." Jack said and Pitch's heart stopped as he heard those words, smiled softly.
"I'll think about it, goodbye Jackson."
"I love you, Pitch."
"I know." Before Jack could say anything else, Pitch hung up and Jack sighed.
WITH PITCH
Pitch sunk into his bed and covered himself with a blanket, he sighed. Pitch didn't know what to do, he knows that he should forgive Jack for the baby and himself as well because he missed the winter spirit terribly. But he couldn't just yet, he might be submissive yet he still has his pride and it was deeply wounded when Jack cheated on him.
"What am I gonna do?" Pitch asked himself while his shared little nightmare horse, he had named Mira, nuzzled his cheek with soft nay and he chuckled. "You're such good girl, Mira."
"Wasn't that the name you were going to name me?" Pitch's eyes widened and he sat up quickly, seeing his daughter Emily or what other spirits called Mother Nature. Pitch frowned at her.
"Actually, your name was going to be Marie. What are you doing here, Mother Nature?" Pitch snared and Mother Nature scoffed.
"My, those hormones must be high today." She remarked and Pitch rolled his eyes.
"Just tell me what you want. As you can see, I am rather tired." Mother Nature sighed.
"I...I must know the truth and you are going to tell me." Mother Nature said and she walked up to the side of the bed where Pitch was. "Why?" Pitch was confused.
"Why what?"
"Why did you become the nightmare king and abandon us? My mother died from devastation when you turned and you left me to almost die. You are going to tell me the truth and you are going to tell me now." Mother Nature demanded and Pitch frowned. After thousands of years she still doesn't understand what really happened, no matter what others have told her.
"The story of how I am is no different from the stories others have told you, so please leave before you waste anymore of your time." Pitch sneered and Mother Nature kneeled before him.
"I will not leave until I know for sure." She looked down. "Did you turn to save me?" Pitch's eyes widened in shock, for it was true.
When Pitch was a general, he was charge of guarding the fearlings that terrorized the innocent children of the world. He took the job of guarding their cell in order to protect his daughter from such terrible creatures. Knowing this, the fearlings fed on Pitch's fear and mimicked the sound of Emily's voice. The sound of the false screams of Emily enchanted him and Pitch opened the cell, only to absorb the fearlings that were held inside.
"H-how, how do you know that?" Pitch asked in clear confusion, because no one knew the truth except for Manny, and Mother Nature looked up at him.
"So it is true, I'm the reason why you are you." Mother Nature cried and Pitch sighed.
"It's not your fault, I should have looked for you before opening that cell. You are not to blame." Mother Nature sniffed.
"But I...I" Pitch shhed her.
"But nothing, you are not to blame." Pitch said firmly and she nodded as Pitch looked at her closely, she was pale. "Emily, when was the last time you were in your true from?" She wiped her tears.
"About two thousand years." Pitch frowned in disappointment, because she supposed to be in true form every two hundred years.
"I am still your father, change right now." Mother Nature laughed before her body was covered in a blue green light and it faded away to reveal the thirteen years old girl's, Mother Nature's true form.
"My father who will be my sibling's mother." She remarked and Pitch glared at her playfully.
"Don't push it and get in the bed, your powers need to regenerate and I'm tired so sleep." Mother Nature nodded and crawled into her father's bed.
"Goodnight, Father." Mother Nature snuggled with Mira and she giggled as the small nightmare horse snuggled back with a soft nay, making Pitch chuckle.
"Goodnight, Emily."
