Chapter 2: "Fire In The Hole"

Two monstrous-looking aliens jumped into the flat, through the small window. They broke the frame, and smashed the glass as they did so.

The terrified shouts and hollers of the nine teens (and one adult) pierced what had once been a quiet hallway. If only these sounds had been overheard by someone. It was unfortunate for them, but it was bon-fire night. Everyone was already out, or already drunk.

The animals snarled.

One had landed on the helmet-clad Dennis, making him scream out in pain as his right arm bent at an odd angle behind him. The loud snap was masked by the snapping teeth of the beast. Neon blue teeth came dangerously close to the injured teen's neck. Like the snap of his arm, Dennis's screams and pleas were non-existent next to the roars of the alien. "Moses! Help! Moses! Ah!" He clenched his eyes shut as the alien came at him again. He was pinned to the pink, itchy carpet, and Dennis knew then. His chances were low.

Dennis knew that he was going to die.

The teeth came at him again, this time clenching down onto the red helmet. It was oh-so close to piercing through his skull, constricting more and more... when BAM! The monster seemed to be taken by surprise. It was knocked off of his weakening body, by a much smaller being.

The figure that saved Dennis could be vaguely seen through Dennis's shocked eyes. The form held a huge meat cleaver in its small fist. Repeatedly, the meat cleaver was brought down hard against the monster's head, causing dark (almost maroon) coloured blood to fly everywhere. The monster managed to fling the smaller figure and the knife away from it. It stood back up, only to be again surprised; this time by a large metal pole.

"Oi! Fucker!" Tia had broken a lamp, and had begun to electrocute the alien with the exposed wires. The creature ran at Tia, but she skilfully dodged it by dashing into her room. The being followed. It hadn't been expected the harsh blow to its head, the ice skate doing an effective job. A screech was heard just before it dropped dead.

Meanwhile, the other alien had stalked over to the sofa that Moses was hiding behind.

Said teens' breathing was staggered, fear coursing through his brain as his short life flashed in front of his eyes. His heart beat had to be going faster than an F1 racing car. Moses took in a deep breath before he stood up slowly. He reached for the katana that Dennis had leant him, sliding the metal sword slowly out of its holder. Slowly he lifted his arms up, ready to strike the alien down!... The sword got stuck in the wall.

It was as Moses was panicking, that the monster took its shot. It launched itself towards the teen. Moses was powerless to stop it. Forcefully complacent in his own death... Except the monster was halted, only centimetres away from his face.

A large cooking knife was lodged underneath its jaw, stabbing the neck fairly accurately, stopping it in its tracks. The knife was held by a pale, bony hand. Moses's eyes trailed from the hand to the pale arms holding said knife, following all the way up to the face of Sam. The alien dropped like a stone, and Moses let out a strangled sound - somewhere between a scream of relief and an intake of breath.
At this point the katana finally slid out of the wall.

In the bedroom of Tia, she and Dimples finished off the other alien. They made sure that it was dead before stopping their beating.

The entire flat fell into silence.

Dennis slowly sat up, flinching heavily when he leant on his broken arm. His jaw was tightly clenched, so he didn't scream out in pain. Closing his eyes, he decided to focus on something else... like who saved him.
