A person changes for two reasons :

Someone special came into their life...
OR
Someone special left their life...

I sighed sadly as I came across this thought, it is very relevant in case of Mahir. I have seen my son change twice in a span of few years.

From his childhood Mahir was an introvert. He hardly had a few friends but he was very close to his siblings.

Later Mahir went to NY for his higher studies. That's when he changed. I was shocked when he informed me that he has 3 best friends. Point to be noted is they weren't just friends they were his best friends.

Gradually I felt the changes in Mahir indicating something else. I guessed that maybe he has fallen in Love and not so surprisingly, I was correct. I had no problem with it, but my only problem was that Mahir never sent his Love's picture. He told me to wait until they finish their studies, then he would get them to meet. Sadly that day never came.

The Mahir who returned from NY was someone whom even I couldn't recognise. Mahir had changed. Changed to such an extent that he hardly spent time with his family. This change in Mahir was something which I hated the most.

Literally just one person's presence and absence changed my Son completely.

Even though Mahir's engagement with Anu didn't happen in the best of situations, I thought that maybe Anu's Love might change Mahir for the good. But was proven wrong. In fact sometimes I feel guilty of forcing Mahir to get engaged to Anu.

From the past few days, once again I noticed a change in Mahir's behaviour. But I couldn't pin point the reason for it or tell if it was for his betterment or not.

I was brought out my reverie by Kuhu's voice calling for me. I sighed. I didn't know if I should be happy for Yuvi for sad for Mahir. Shrugging of my thoughts I went to the hall to prepare for the upcoming pre-wedding rituals.

Andy, Mahir, Bela and Yuvi had returned from their office. Today was the last day Yuvi was going to office, he had taken a month leave. I noticed Anu too was present in the hall with Juhi, Kuhu and RJ. I smiled at everyone and sat down with them.

After discussing for a while it was decided that the Sangeet would be on 7th Feb i.e. One week before the wedding and one day after Juhi's parents came from Pune.

Soon the all them except Mahir began to discuss or I may say argue about their dance performances.

Just then we heard the door bell ring. But none was effected by it. The servant went to open the door.

Actually I was thinking that... Bela was speaking when someone called her.

Bela Darling... All of us turned towards the voice to find a handsome man in his late twenties.

Vyom... Bela screamed ecstatically.

In no time Bela ran towards the guy Vyom and hugged him.

They broke the after a few minutes. After which Yuvi and Juhi greeted him followed by a hug.

Later Vyom introduced himself, he was Bela's colleague and best friend. Then Yuvi introduced us to Vyom.

I'm sorry Yuvi and Juhi... I couldn't make it to your Engagement and so as a compensation I'm here 2 weeks before your wedding... Vyom said.

That's good Vyom... Otherwise it wouldn't had been very bad for you... Yuvi glared at him.

Sweetheart... Did you miss me??? Vyom ignored Yuvi and spoke with Bela.

Yes... A lot... Bela replied.

Is Vyom your Boyfriend Bela??? Anu asked the question which even I thought of asking.

What??? Never??? Vyom's taste can't be so horrible... Vyom replied instantly only to receive the cushion on his face.

We are just friends... Bela said while glaring at Vyom.

Soon everyone dispersed to their rooms. Bela, Vyom, Yuvi and Juhi went to show Vyom his room, while Kuhu and RJ went to their room, Andy got a business call so left to attend it and Anu went to the kitchen.

Now it was just me and Mahir. I observed him for a few minutes to realise that he id completely lost in his thoughts.

Mahir... I called him.

Huh??? Yes Maa... Mahir replied after composing himself. Something was definitely wrong with him.

Mahir is everything fine??? I asked worried.

Yeah Maa... It was his normal reply, every time I ask this question to him.

I know something is wrong Mahir... I thought as I saw Mahir climb the stairs.

As Bela had returned home early from her office, she insisted on preparing Dinner, firstly I didn't agree as she might be tired but the end result was her win.

Hmmm... The food is very delicious... Vyom complimented.

Yes... It's awesome... Right Mahir??? Anu agreed.

Yeah... By the way, Maa have you employed a new cook??? Mahir asked.

Before I could reply to Mahir, Yuvi bust out laughing as he knew who cooked the dinner today.

Yes Bhai... New cook... Yuvi managed to speak.

Bela was glaring at Yuvi angrily.

I think so Maa, you should make the cook's job permanent... Mahir stated and this time all laughed.

That's not possible Mahir Bhai... Because it's Bela Di who prepared dinner and sadly she can't stay here permanently... Juhi replied.

Oh... Mahir said maybe embarrassed by his talks.

Actually Bela can stay here permanently if Mahir wants... Vyom said as he ate another spoonful if rice.

All looked at Vyom confused, while he was busily enjoying his favourite Fried Rice.

As he was about to eat another spoon he noticed everyone looking at him and he looked confused but later understood it.

I meant to say that, if Mahir makes sure that Bela's work wouldn't be completed soon, then Bela shall have to stay here only know... Vyom explained.

After dinner, as I was going to my room, I saw Mahir and Anu fight. In a minute Anu left irritated. Mahir too walked to his room angrily.
