"Sorry," I muttered as I bumped into a big, burly guy.
"Watch it, girl," He glared at me, then continued down the corridor.
The bell rang for first period. I checked my registration papers and hurried toward the sign that said General Office.

"You must be Angie Waters. We've been expecting you," a young lady sitting at the desk smiled at me.
"Yes, I am," I replied.
"Here's your class schedule. Your first class is Honors Composition, in Room 105 on this floor," she filled me in. She leaned closer, and added, "You got Miss Erna. She's horrible," Then her smile came back and asked for my papers.

I hurried along the corridor to find Room 105. I knocked. I opened the door. Unfortunately, I had interuppted a lecture.
"Angie Waters, yes?" Miss Erna asked. "Take a seat, quick," Then she resumed her lecture on how to describe a character's dress.
I plopped down on a first row seat. This was going to be a long hour.
