I walked a couple blocks to the front of the forest, it stretched for what looked like forever. There was loads of extremely tall trees that stood proud blocking any light that could peek through. I looked deep into the darkness then took a long drawn breath and went straight into the forest with little fears, none at all. The deeper I went in, the more silent it got so I took off my headphones to enjoy the music of the forest. There were crows singing morbid songs and slight chirping of crickets in the distance, such different melodies that go so perfectly together is such a wondrous thing.
After a while, I finally reached a spot that caught my eye. A shorter tree with no leaves but a strangely linked and intriguing trunk, laid mysteriously in the deep forest. It was like as if it was missing a piece, or like as if something was supposed to fit in it. I was filled with my usual huge flow of curiosity so I gave in and let it take control.
I ran my fingers along the strange tree and examined it, I even climbed the trunk a bit to look at the mysterious hole. There was little branches, leaves, and smaller plants everywhere and an old rock that was covered in the green moss as well as the other trees. Another odd thing I noticed was that this tree didn't have any moss on it, there was a small faded carving on it but I couldn't even tell what it was. I looked around to see if there was anything worth looking at. Then it finally happened, I saw something that I thought was a plant but it was just too straight to be one. I jumped down from the tree then ran towards it but something caught onto my foot. Suddenly, I was falling, it happened so quickly and out of nowhere! I just kept falling frozen until I hit the floor hard, it didn't even feel like the real forest floor. I got up slowly recollecting myself then I examined the floor. The area that I was standing on had been covered in leaves so I started brushing and kicking the leaves away until it revealed a small part of a train track. I was so thrilled that I found something so big in the forest, I have never found something like a whole train track before. It has obviously been an abandoned track because there is tons of leaves covering it, for what could be miles of tracks was now waiting for me to follow it! As excited as I was, I remembered that I had to be home before dark. I quickly picked up my umbrella then ran towards the direction I had came from. Once I had made it home safe, I looked once more at the forest. I couldn't wait to go back.
