Chapter 3

Nina's pov

I was woken up to someone smacking my cheek, my eyes snapped open only to see the man again. I started trying to get away from him until I saw Octavia push him away from me, I looked towards my brother only to see that he was to tortured just a little bit worse than me. He had holes in his hands, tears went down my face as I saw this I lowered my head in defeat. Everyone's started talking about an antidote from the poison that was on my brother's knife there was a blonde girl in the room that was trying to get it out of my brother, than some girl came in and also tried but before I knew it she ripped wires out of the wall. My eyes widened when I realized what she was going to do.

"No!" I yelled

Everyone turned towards me with shocked looks, the man walked towards me making Octavia tense up.

"You speak English?" He asked

"No." I said again

He growled making me look towards the girls, I look at Octavia making her run towards my brothers bag with all of his cure's. She walked towards me and started pointing at the vials when she got to the correct one, I nodded my head.

"Beja, bants em alone." I pleaded to the man

Lincoln, looked at me with sad eyes as the girls left down the floor door, the man tried to touch Octavia but she pushed him away from her. I saw her grab a knife before she ran towards me and cut me down, my body collapsed and before I touched the ground she caught me. She lowered us to the ground and laid my head onto her lap.

"Octavia, I want to go home." I whispered "I need to go home"

She quietly shushed me before kissing my forehead, I closed my eyes before everything turned dark.

*Next Morning*

I was sitting in the corner with my back against the wall and my legs stretched out in front of me, It hurt to move and my back hurt really bad. Some dark skinned boy was watching us and the healer girl was trying to clean my brother's wounds from what he told me last night, she helped torture him. When Octavia volunteered to do it she walked over to me but she had different tools.

"I'm gonna need to see if you need stitches, okay?" She said

I nodded my head to weak to speak and my throat hurt from screaming. She pulled my shoes and my pants off before she started stitching up where the knives went into my thighs, than she wrapped my arms, legs, and upper body in bandages. She than had Octavia help her redress me before they helped me sit up against the wall , again. The blonde woman walked away from me and went through the door in the floor, the whole day was spent by Octavia cleaning my brothers wounds before leaving because the boy in the room said so. That was until she quickly came back and gave the boy some nuts that made him act funny, she than released my brother from his restraints and immediately ran towards me. He bent down in front of me before kissing my head.

"Are you, alright?" He questioned

"Everything hurts." I whispered

He nodded before looking at Octavia.

"She can not come with me until I talk to my people." He said sadly "Can you watch over her?"

"Yeah, let me get you out of here." She said

He nodded before kissing my head and putting his necklace around my neck, they quickly went through the door in the floor making me smile to myself.

"He's finally out of this scary place, be safe brother."I wondered

I fell asleep to the thoughts of my brother being safe in the grounder village. A few hours later I was woken up by someone carrying me, I open my eyes to see the man that has been haunting my dreams making my eyes widen in fear. He put me in this weird looking red home before laying me down on a cot, I weakly scooted away from him making him look at me curiously.

"Your friend left you behind, why?" He asked

"He's my brother" I mumbled

He looked at me wide eyed before a look of sadness covered his eyes, but it quickly went away just as fast as it showed.

"Yeah, well. You're staying with me until we know what to do with you." He said grumpily

"Where are we?" I mumbled while looking around confused

He gave me a weird look making me give him a confused one.

"We're in a tent." He said in a duh tone

"What's a tent?" I asked

He looked at me bewildered.

"What?" I asked

"You don't know, what a tent is?!" He asked bewildered

I shook my head.

"You're kidding me, right?" He asked 

I shook my head, once again.

"Why is he looking at me like that?" I wondered

That's when it hit me, I looked down at my hand.

"Am I really that uneducated about the outside world?" I wondered

 Bellamy's pov

After she asked me what a tent was, I just gave her a bewildered look. 

"How can a Grounder not know what a tent is?" I wondered

I saw her her face went from concerned to sad before she looked down at her lap, that's when I remembered something my sister told me before I brought her in here.

*Flashback*

I was storming towards the drop ship after I heard that one of the grounders escaped, before I could start climbing the ladder Octavia grabbed my arm making me look at her.

"What, O." I said irritated

"You need to be nice to, Nina." She said bravely

I looked at her confused.

"I need to be nice to the grounder?" I asked while looking at her as if she was stupid, "Why."

"Because, she been through a lot Bell." She said sadly "And what you did to her last night, didn't help."

I gave her a confused look.

"She's been cooped up in that cave all her life, Bellamy." She explained, "Her people hate her and her brother kept her there for her safety. So, please be nice." 

I sighed, before I looked up at the third floor. 

"I wonder what made her, people hate her." I wondered
