-----Amee P.O.V-----

I sat in my sleeping bag with my back against a tree, watching the fire move with the soft Breeze that swept by our campsite, pushing the flames and making them flicker and dance.

My headphones blocked out most of the noise around me with the music that played, helping me feel relaxed which pushed out a soft sigh.

I try to force myself to feel tired by keeping my eyes shut for a few moments, knowing that the position I was in wouldn't matter much at all.

Before to long I gave up and began to dig through my bag in the hopes of finding something to occupy me me, maybe something boring that Maverick have supplied me with thinking it may sweeten our deal.

Pulling out a book that normal teenage girls would be interested in, something about makeup, models and famous people that I actually had no interest in.
I soon stopped when noticing on rather good looking individual, he was older with a strong jaw, tan skin and rather steely looking eyes.

I looked around before sinking down against the tree and in my sleeping bag, hoping to not be seen having a gander at the opposite gender who was supposedly to old for me.
"Hello handsome."

I flipped the page and what I saw made my face heat up, his good looking face matched his body as I scanned over a picture that had been taken of him at the beach in bored shorts.
"I would love to throw down with you any day."

I mumbled to myself lowly before realizing what was happening to me.
"Stop that, I'm a trained fighter and I don't do peeking."
I scolded myself as I regained my wits about me.

Deciding I had enough exposure to the outside world and it'd influences I shut the book, not wanting to get to lost in the pages and refocused my brain function of something more proactive.

Firewood; I looked up to find the fire was starting to die out, I was tempted to throw the book into the fire to get it going, but I lied to myself with a convincing argument that the amount of ink wouldn't make good fire fuel.

But deep down I knew I couldn't bring myself to part with my new discovery of a man's mostly naked body. So I held on to it and hid it in the depth of my bag before turning my full attention to the fire, stoking it and putting more wood on top.

I pulled my headphones off to listen to my Surroundings, hoping to hear some of the night life before picking another small book to read, it was about the wild life it the area.
But when I hear a snapping sound close by only to have a far off roar cause me to jump slightly.

I got to my knees and listened carefully my hair standing on end at the back of my neck.
"A deer, Maybe? But I would see it, if it was really that close."
I thought to myself while remaining alert, waiting to hear the roar get closer or a further off along with any kind of snapping.

I looked around in the direction we came from, after some time of hearing nothing from where I heard the commotion I sat back down, ready to settle in so I pulled my sleeping bag up to my chest and went back to reading. My body shivered as it struggled to heat up again, the cold forest wind made me feel slightly weak, still no sleep came to me as I waited.

Suddenly I was being shaken awake. Despite not remembering when I fell asleep, I knew it hadn't been long due to how tired I was. I opened my eyes to find some food being held out in front of me, I looked up past the arm seeing Knox's face. "Thank you Sergeant."
I accept the bowl of porridge and ate the warm food quickly while I stayed in my sleeping bag, eager to get warmer up as soon as possible.

Knox gave me a nod and turned back to the rest of the group, everything was packed up already which caused me to take note of my breakfast. It was already getting cold and not as warm as it would be if it was just made.
