"Whoa Lo calm down!" Walker said once he had managed to restrain Lauren who was looking a complete mess. "It was only a joke! Anyway," he turned to the rest of the group, "Guess what?"
"Why don't you just tell us," recommended Joey. "Other wise this could be a really long game!" Jaime let out an unbelievable high, girly giggle. Lauren turned to her in disgust, Jaime looked down at the floor, her face getting redder by the second.
"Fine," Walker continued. "So, when I went out-"
"Went out, hid from me, same thing!" Lauren butted in.
"Okay then when I," he looked at Lauren, "'hid,'I ran into one of my old friends from High School. She said that-"
"Wait SHE?" Interrupted Lauren once again.
"Yes Lauren, I have friends who aren't all men, a lot like yourself some would say! Besides, why would you care if it was a she or a he?"
"I- um- er," stuttered Lauren. Jaime looked over at her, she had an annoying look of pity and amusement. It was now Lauren's turn to look down at the floor going red.
"Er, Joe?" Brian said, trying to spare Lauren some embarrassment.
"Huh?" Joe was still staring at Lauren, a peculiar expression on his face.
"The story you were telling us!"
"Oh, right yeah! So SHE said SHE was wondering if we'd all like to go to her party on Saturady!"
"What are we celebrating?" Asked Brian.
"I think it's her Birthday, I'm not too sure she was a little quick over that whole area, but anyway it's formal dress and we have to have dates as well."
"Oh god..." Muttered Lauren.
"Who else did she invite? Apart from us I mean." Questioned Meredith.
"Other than us, the only people I know about is Dylan and Darren." Joe said thoughtfully. "It shouldn't be too hard to find dates."
"Easy for you to say!" Lauren protested. "You've already got that girl- what's her actual name, I only know her as 'the girl?'"
"Her name's Rebecca and she's already going with someone. So I figured that we could sort our selves out now!"
"I don't know many boys I would be interested in doing that with..." Lauren said truthfully.
"Well that's what I thought!"
"Gee, thanks Walker, you really know how to make me feel better!" Lauren said sarcastically.
"No, that's not what I meant at all Lo. I was thinking that if neither of us knows who to go with we might as well go with each other, as friends."
"As friends." Lauren repeated.Joe rolled his eyes. "No Lo as husband and wife!" He said sarcastically.
"What about me and Jaime?" Joey tuned in.
"Go together you idiot!" Lauren said to him jokingly. Jaime cast her a glowing smile. "I'm guessing you two lovebirds don't need setting up," Lauren said to Brian and Meredith.
"I think we should be okay!" Meredith replied. Everyone headed into the kitchen except Lauren and Joe.
"Listen Lo, sorry about what I did to your room. That's just what boredom does to me!"
"It's okay I guess. It was pretty funny!"
Joe smiled at her. "Maybe I'll be able to redeem myself at the party."
"Believe me Joe," Lauren said while heading upstairs to redecorate her room. "You already have."
Joe gave her a confused look before deciding to join the others.
